Brent P.O.V
Ever since I was born, my parents have been working in a secret business that they only told me one thing about. They 'Get the chosen ones'. That's all they ever say. I'm not aloud to say anything about it. I won't be able to work in it until I am 16 years old. And today is my sixteenth birthday.
"Happy Birthday to you!" My mother finishes as she sets carrot cake in front of me. My favorite. I blow out the candles and make a wish. I wish that whatever the secret job is, that it does good to people. And that I impress my father.
"So Brent..I know what you are thinking. What is this secret organization I work for? Well, you're about to find out." My father says as he pulls a small blue box out of nowhere.
"Open it." He commands. I eagerly take it and open it. At that instant, all I see is white. The white fades to blue and I feel as if I'm being pulled in a thousand different directions. I feel like I need to throw up. My feet finally find a solid surface and I gasp in air in huge gulps. I'm standing in a room tiled in glossy black from floor to ceiling. I instantly have tons of questions. How did that box get me here? Why am I in this strange room?
After a couple seconds, my dad walks in a door that was almost invisible.
"H-how..wait, what?" I stutter. My father just smiles. It looks forced.
"That was teleportation. Don't ask me how it works, it just does. I don't even know how it works. Now come, let me show you what to do." He says as he leads me thorough the door. There is a long red hallway in front of me. My dad strides confidently but I can tell he's a little nervous. My dad is never nervous. Now my palms are sweaty and I have to force myself to walk onward. We reach the ninth door and my dad stops abruptly then takes a deep breath. I do too. He turns the door handle and walks in. I do the same and walk straight towards what was behind the door. I lose my deep breath as soon as I see him. The man. The man with the eyes.
