God, what am I doing? I can wait a day, right? Would it be too creepy? No, it's Jack, I'll be fine.

I had known Jack for some time, in fact, I would say it was close to eleven years now. I had met him when our parents introduced us, they were both in a business meeting and I went wandering around the big mansion on my own. Soon enough I got bored and found the fridge. I remember vividly opening the fridge, grabbing the nearest fruit, and closing it, only to be met with a pair of eyes staring me down.

I freaked out, as you could imagine, and in my panic, I dropped the fruit and ran to my mum. My mum and dad were just leaving the conference room when I bumped into there legs. They asked what was wrong but before I could speak I felt a pair of eyes burning the back of my skull, so I hid behind my mum's legs and clung on for dear life.

"Honey, whatever is the matter?" She asked.

I only pointed at the object of my fears.

"Ah yes, [Y/N], meet Jack Spicer. He's the company president's son and your future fiancé." My dad introduced us, pushing me towards the scary looking boy before me.

"He won't bite, will you Jack?" The boy's father chuckled.

He only nodded his head and stuck his hand out to shake my own. I looked him up and down; his red vest over his black shirt, his back trousers tucked into his black boots, and on his head a set of yellow goggles, what a peculiar boy. He looked like quite the opposite of me. I was smaller wearing a pink dress my mum had bought me for special occasions, my ballet pumps, and my hair was up in a bun because my mum would never let me have short hair. We looked nothing alike.

"The name's Jack." He frowned, and I took his hand.

"[Y/N]. A pleasure." I smiled, shaking his hand gracefully.

The boy blushed and gave me a toothy grin. "The pleasure is all mine [Y/N]."

From then on we would visit the Spicer residents quite often, I and Jack would disappear into his basement and the adults would drink and talk business. By the time I was ten I had forgotten about the arranged marriage with him and was focusing on my friendship with the whiz kid. It kept on growing until I hit the age fifteen, and by then we were the best of friends. That was until my parents sent me away to finish my schooling in another country. My mother insisted that I only stay in contact with my family, and I obeyed, but the entire time I was away I wondered what Jack would be doing.

That is why I was here, at Jack's front door, at 6pm, with a suitcase.

It's fine. The Spicers will be happy to see you. You've been gone for so long, what if they've forgotten about you? No, this is Jack we are talking about, he's my best friend. Now knock! Knock before the rain makes you gather a cold! Knoc-

"[Y/N]?" A familiar female voice sang. "What are you doing out in the rain?"

"I-I didn't know whether to knock, I haven't even been home to visit my family yet." I admitted.

"We are your family too you know." She smiled such a sweet and heavenly smile. "Come in, I will fix you up some hot cocoa, do you intend to stay here the night?" She took my suitcase and closed the door.

"No, I didn't at first, but looking at the weather it would be impossible to go home now." I sighed, I really wanted to see my parents.

"It's okay dear, I will call your parents and tell them where you are, you just get warm and dry okay?" She smiled and walked on down to the hallway landline.

I looked around and took in the familiar views. This place hasn't changed at all. I walked over to the living area and was slightly startled when Mr Spicer looked up from his newspaper.
