A week later I was starting my new summer job. I had been with my family for a whole week before I started by their request, they wanted to be with their little girl for a while before I began staying at the Spicer household for the week. Jack gave me the weekends off so I could go home and see my family, but I was on permanent day hours and on call on the weekends if he needed me.
I was just headed down the basement stairs when I heard it. Silence. Jack wasn't there. To be honest I was relieved. I wasn't really ready to face Jack at such an early time in the morning.
"[Y/N]." Wuya bellowed.
Of course, she's here.
"Jack left you list on the bench. Better get started."
And with that, she left. Strange witch.
I walked over to the bench, pushed all the scrap metal off the piece of paper, and read over the work he left. Clean, dust, polish, and take notes of what he says. Easy enough. I got started on the cleaning, placing scrap metal in one pile, nuts and bolts in another, the rubbish in the bin, and the books back on the shelves. I was appalled by the arrangement of the bookshelf, and so I re-arranged the ENTIRE shelf.
I was well away in my own little world, picking up stacks of books and taking them over to the shelf when...
"Boo."
"AH!"
I fell over a toolbox and the books scattered the floor. I braced for impact but-
"Woah, careful! I didn't think I'd scare you so much." He gripped my waist and pulled me close. "Sorry [Y/N]." I blushed as Jack rested his chin on my head and breathed me in. I swear I heard him mumble something into my hair.
We stayed like that for a couple of minutes, me frozen still with my arms at my sides under Jack's grasp, before we heard the basement door open. Seriously, he is so scrawny, how is he so strong?
"Jack, [Y/N], I brought you some breakfast." The maid said, placing cereal on the workbench.
"I already have breakfast here." Jack smiled.
"No, you don't, you just got out of bed. Here you go." She placed the spoons in the bowls and walked back up and out of the room.
Jack let me go and we walked over to the cereal and started on the food. Jack sat and ate while I on the other hand finished stocking the shelf and cleaning the room whilst eating. Wuya came back and gasped at the cleanliness, and then nagged Jack to start doing something useful. All a usual morning in the Spicer basement really.
"So," I began as I placed my empty dish on the maid's try for pick up. "What was that breakfast you claimed you had here? I have been cleaning all morning and I haven't found anything."
Jack smirked, picked up his empty bowl, and walked over to me.
"You." His whisper tickled the hairs on my neck and the slap on the ass frightened me slightly.
I blushed like a school girl and looked at the sneaky bastard but the look he gave me in return made me fear him. And I didn't fear evil villains, I admired them, but god the way Jack was staring at me gave me chills. I was petrified.
I guess he noticed.
"Sorry [Y/N]!" He panicked.
So cute.
"I-I didn't mean to scare you!" He panicked and started to tear up. "Don't be scared!"
"Jack!" I yelled, trying to get his attention. "Jack it's fine, I'm fine," I assured him, cupping this face in my hands. "You're an evil villain Jack, you are supposed to be scary." I smiled, wiping tears from his cheeks. "Now let's get to work shall we?"
