"You'll never get rich by working for your boss" ~ Felix Dennis

The trees moved by in a haze of green as the car sped down the freeway.
The sun hadn't yet reached its highest point in the sky, and still had a red tint to it from when it rose.

I looked away from the window temporarily, picking at my coat, which I had designed myself.
Looking back out the window again, I noticed we had finally arrived at the building.
It loomed over us, having 60 stories with the company's logo at the top, my company's logo.

Fox Design & Co.

Smiling to myself, I thanked my driver Bill, and exited the vehicle making my way to the building.
Once entering all eyes were on me and almost simultaneously everyone said "Good morning Ms. Fox."
I nodded in greeting and replied, "Good morning everyone" as I made my way to the elevator.
Pushing the top floor, the ride was silent minus the soft sound of Sade's Smooth Operator playing over the speakers.

The elevator chimed softly once I reached my destination, the top floor, better known as my office.

It had large floor to ceiling windows at the far end of the room as most offices in LA did.
The remaining three walls were a mauve color, though the wall adjacent from the windows had a large mirror that covered most of it.
Across from the mirror on the other side of the room, were a few racks of clothing that I was reviewing.
Shoes, accessories, and three of my sketchbooks laid upon the decent sized conference table at the center of the room.
My desk was directly in front of the windows, a neat clutter of paperwork as well as swatches of fabric spewed across it.
My computer sat at the corner of the desk and currently had an unfinished jacket I was working on thrown across it, which I removed and hung back on one of the many clothing mannequins that were in the room.

Placing my purse on an adjacent part of my desk, I plopped down in my seat with a sigh and turned on my computer.
Scanning through my emails I saw that a few of my employees had requested to meet with me today so that we may go over some finished pieces for an upcoming fashion show that would present an extension of my clothing line. The extension would include the expansion of men's clothing as well as a few additions to the women's department.

Getting through with the day may end up being tougher than I intended.
Being the head executive and creator of Fox Design involved lots of communication with others. Some being more important than others.
The only issue I had with this is that I always preferred to work alone.

Ever since I was a kid, working with groups, I was constantly let down or I always had to be the one to take charge.
I also felt the most creative and comfortable when designing in my own space.

Brushing it off, I opened a cabinet in my desk and removed a stark white binder which I had reserved for meetings. Printing out my schedule and slipping it inside, I made my way to my first destination.

It had seemed as if the day had dragged on for ages, but finally it was time to retire for the evening.
I could happily say that today was rather successful and that the announcement for the expansion of the line would indeed be occurring at the upcoming fashion show next Friday.

That gives me a good week to make sure all the finishing touches are up to par. Which I already knew was going to be stressful considering the fact that I was a perfectionist.
