"When you are standing in the middle of a storm you have two choices: Pray to God that it goes away. Or, start praying to God that he gives you the wisdom to figure out why you're standing in the middle of a storm."
~ Shannon L. AlderI remained motionless for a moment, but once he looked away from the book to my fearful state, I contemplated charging at him mercilessly, in a fit of rage.
He wasn't much bigger than myself, but then again he was a man who's probably much stronger than I am.
He closed his book and patted the space next to him.
Yet still I remained in the same spot."It's okay baby, I won't hurt you"
I was fuming at this point, but I remembered what I promised myself about complying until I could escape, so I made my way over to him on the couch and sat about three feet away.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me flush to his side and I tried my hardest not to commence thrashing about.
He could probably see the fumes coming out of my nose and ears.
Staring straight ahead, I didn't shift a muscle.
"You're probably wondering why you're here" he cleared his throat. No shit.
"I've got a lot to share with you my dear, but don't fret, you're in good hands. I'm not deranged."
Averting my gaze, I gave him the nastiest look I could muster.
He chuckled, "don't look at me like that, you'll understand soon enough. Look here"
He opened the book he had which happened to be a photo book.
Inside contained numerous pictures of him with his family, I recognized some of the people there, but I had never seen these photos before.
I guess not every picture of him is on the internet.Suddenly he came across one picture of me and him.
A cold sweat formed on my brow and my breathing picked up enough for only me to notice. I had never seen this picture before nor do I recall being with him wherever it was taken. It looked old and there was a tear on the right of Prince, as if someone had ripped off a piece of it.
We were both smiling, his arm around my waist but I looked slightly different.
My hair was way shorter but I still looked around the same age as I am now.I looked to him to elucidate.
"You've probably never seen this picture before, huh?"
Not giving him a response, I only licked my drying lips."Well that's cause it's not from this life. In our past lives we were soulmates and I believe we are in this life too."
"What the fuck" was all I could say.
Has this man lost his marbles?
Past lives?
Soulmates?
There's no fucking way.But here in front of me was the proof.
"This is fake" I said standing up.
"Please relax" he said standing up as well.
"Take me the fuck home right now. I'll be happy to let the police know you kidnapped me and that you're on some type of drugs too, the public will just eat this up." I rambled as I stomped my way to the door, and after turning all the locks and opening it I came face to face with vast greenery.
