"Want of foresight, unwillingness to act when action would be simple and effective, lack of clear thinking, confusion of counsel until the emergency comes, until self-preservation strikes its jarring gong - these are the features which constitute the endless repetition of history."
~ Winston ChurchillMichael's P.O.V
The scream was deafening and I knew even before the lights came on, it was Adesina.
The music had stopped and once the lights returned the audience seemed amused believing that this was all part of the show.
The band was immediately rushed off the stage, all in a state of confusion and panic, Nelson the worst of them all.
He wasted no time at all and walked right up to me.
"What just happened? Where did she go?"My eyes narrowed, "I'm not sure, but you need to get somewhere safe, they could be after you too"
He scoffed before strutting away.I immediately radioed the rest of the force who were at the establishment and told them to check the entire perimeter immediately.
I hurried to the stage and told the audience to remain seated until further notice.
They now realized this wasn't a drill and the loud murmur they radiated only pissed me off.I took the ladder at the side of the stage which led to the small platform directly under the lights.
It was dark as hell up here and I kept my hand posted on my weapon just in case there was any danger.I heard a faint rumble to my right and quickened my pace.
By the time I arrived it was too late.
There was a latch on the wall leading into the night sky. A cool breeze swept through the vacant space, no sign of anyone near by.[Π]
Adesina's P.O.V
Everything was hazy and dark. I could see faint circles of light and heard the sound of my quickened breath.
The soft cloth I felt on my cheeks indicated that a bag was over my head, which explained my labored sight.A soft vibration stemmed from whatever my body was laying upon which I assumed was a leather couch or seat. I wasnt sure if I was in a plane or a car, but when we haulted abruptly I went with the latter.
I was too afraid to move, unsure if there was another person in the car with me.
I did however, take notice of the fact that my hands were securely tied behind my back.I tried to recall events from earlier but after the lights went out at the show and I was grabbed, my memory faded.
L is for lust
O is for obsession
V is for the vast way you
Envelope my soul.
This is crazy, this is crazy
I could die from the pheromone. My eyes closed in realization as it all came back to me.
Prince sang those lyrics to me right before I was abducted.
I was beginning to suspect him as my stalker, but how would it have been him if I saw him on the stage once I was grabbed, and why would he even want to kidnap me?My head was starting to hurt as I went through all the possibilities of what would happen to me, once I got to wherever it is that I'm being taken to.
I decided not to think too much and instead just try to stay alert.
I would have to comply with whatever this is until I come up with a plan to escape and also so I'm not killed.[Π]
I wasn't quite sure how long we had been in the car, as I had fallen out of consciousness again which led me to believe that I had been drugged.
When I came to again, I was no longer in the vehicle but instead tucked in a very comfortable bed.
My head hurt and I was terrified.
It was quiet and dark, as I sat up.I crept out the bed as noiselessly as I could.
My ears were alert for any sound that came from something other than myself.
I searched for something I could use as a weapon, but unfortunately came up empty handed.I was no longer wearing the dress I had worn to the fashion show, but instead a nightgown on top of my underwear, which gave me hope that my body wasn't completely exposed to whomever changed me.
Gradually, I opened the door to the bedroom which revealed a hallway.
I tiptoed with my body pressed against the wall, constantly checking behind me for any signs of danger. At the opening of the hallway was a spacious living room and kitchen.
As I was observing the lavender decor, movement on the couch caught my attention and once I focused on it, I realized who it was.I stood motionless, glad that he hadn't yet noticed me.
He was reading a novel, black frames resting upon his face.
I wanted to be wrong, I wanted it to be someone else, I wanted this all to just be a big misunderstanding, but it couldn't be.
The evidence was far too strong before I was taken and now he sits here only confirming my suspicion.I wanted to confront him but at the same time, I was afraid.
I had no idea what his motives were and we had only just met.And yet there Prince sat, still reading his book without a care in the world, without looking as if he committed a terrible crime.
Here Prince sat.
I still stood motionless, barely even breathing, my anxiety beyond spiked.
"You know, you're not as quiet as you think you are" his deep baritone broke the silence.
