The school day seemed longer than usual. Bloodrayne didn't tease Silver, at least not in the classroom. The lunchroom and hallways were different stories.
"So Silver? How was your night in the bathroom?"
"Far better than being in your presence."
"Oh, sweetie. Was that supposed to be a burn? Because that sucked." Bloodrayne sneered. "Changing subject, did you sign up for the test? Oh wait. Does it matter?"
"I did sign up, thank you for asking."
"But you won't be able to take the test due to your microchip." Bloodrayne snickered.
"Well should it matter? At least I know you won't be going to Columbus."
"Now that's a burn. Anyway, we really should be heading to class now. Oops!" Bloodrayne took the bottle of water she held in her hand and dropped it on the floor. "I hope you know where a custodian is. Let me see if I can find a map of the school."
"Well, the main custodian who always calls the others via radio is in his office, which is right down the south hallway. I can contact him if you want."
"No, I'm fine Silver." Bloodrayne said through clenched teeth. "I'll just go get him myself."
Silver mocked Bloodrayne with a snicker and walked to her last class. The bell rang as Silver sat down in her seat, and it wasn't five minutes after the bell that Bloodrayne walked in.
"Bloodrayne? Why are you so late?"
"I spilled my water in the hallway, so I went to find a custodian. I didn't mean for it to take so long."
"Next time don't be so clumsy, alright? Or you could ask Silver to contact the custodians. Then you wouldn't be wandering aimlessly around the school."
"Yes ma'am..."~•~
The bell rang to dismiss class, and Silver walked out of the school so not to make it seem as if she had somewhere important to be. Had she been running, Bloodrayne would stop her and make her wait for five minutes.
Once Silver made it out of the school building, she noticed a woman who looked to be about nineteen standing not too far from the front doors. She seemed pretty normal, except for two things-
Her mechanical eye and her artificial arms.
"Heyo! Silver!" The woman waved, and Silver walked over to where she stood.
"I'm guessing you're Ally Minium?"
"Sure thing. Common, we need to get Tina."
"Tina?"
"Tina Goldstein. Your teacher. She's one of us, but hers aren't as visible. See, her eyes are both mech, but they're made to look for realistic. Not to mention the fact that several of her organs are mech."
"I never thought she was a cyborg..."
"Well now you know. Oh! There she is! Hey Tina!" Ally waved her hand in a similar fashion as what she did when she saw Silver, and Ms. Goldstein walked over.
"Ally! I see you've got Silver. Is she coming with us?"
"Sure thing. She's the last of us, so I think we should be heading to Columbus now...or..."
"Ally? What are you plotting?"
"There's another possibly habitable planet in the Arbonic system named Athena. I'm sure the Revolt is able to get there. Especially considering how Columbus is farther away."
"But wouldn't it be odd if the entire cyborg population left, and if one of the ships that was to be used to escort those taking the test to Columbus disappeared and was no longer traceable?" Ms. Goldstein had made several a fair point in Silver's opinion.
"Not if someone were to hack the database and erase all documentation of the cyborgs existing as well as the Revolt. Silver? You think you can do it?"
"I haven't hacked the database before, however...at least not that deep. I've only been able to learn government secrets. For example the 167th president was originally a man named Edward Grant, and he was elected because he promised to find and stop the then corruption, but when it was learned that he was the source of the corruption, he was impeached and was removed of his title. If the government was ever to speak of him, they'd refer to him as the 166 1/2 president."
"That explains your essay on the achievements of the 167th president George Hamilton." Ms. Goldstein said with a condescending tone.
"Nevermind that, Tina. C'mon, let's go!"
Ally grabbed Silver's wrist and started walking away from the campus. Ms. Goldstein- Tina- followed behind the two as they made their way to...somewhere.
