Metal and Wires

The black dissipated as Silver opened her eyes, and the pain was gone. Everything that had gone numb due to the fire had feeling once again. They felt different, however. There was a clicking as Silver tried to focus her eyes on some tin-coloured thing where her legs would be. Once the clicking ended, Silver noticed how her legs were covered in metal.
"Ah! You're up!" A voice came from the doorway, and once again there was clicking. "I hope you adjust fast to the changes. As you've seen, we've replaced your legs. The nerves were shot so it would almost be equivalent to being paralysed as you walked, except you could actually use your legs. You lost one of your eyes in the explosion-some piece of shrapnel lodged itself in your eye. The tear ducts also stopped working with that eye so we decided we'd replace that with an eye with a camera, and with the tear ducts no longer working we wouldn't have to deal with tears constantly ruining the camera so we'd have to replace it. We connected a data chip to your brain and your eye so that you don't need holo-glasses or to use tablets, etc. The only thing you'll ever need is that chip."
"What all did I lose in the fire?"
"Both legs, an arm, an eye, you punctured a lung so we had to replace that, you're heart failed several times due to the shock of the event so we worked on that a little. That's all."
"So, I would've died..."
"That's correct."
Silver sat there for a moment, and looked over at her arms. Her right arm was made of metal now; luckily she was left-handed or else she would have to learn how to write with this new arm. "What metal did you guys use? I want to know if there'd be any time where I'd need to replace the artificial limbs..."
"Well, you'd need to anyway in about 10 years, but for the most part there's no need. We used an alloy of titanium and silver- titanium because of its strength, and silver because of your name."
Silver let out a small laugh. "I should've known the silver. So I'll need to come back and replace it when I'm eighteen?"
"Yes. Anymore questions?"
"No." The doctor nodded, and then left the room. Silver tried to get a grasp of her surroundings, clicking coming from her mechanical eye being the only sound in the room. Silver tried to use the microchip the doctor had mentioned, and was pleased when she was able to access the Internet.
"Well that's one thing I understand. Maybe I should try moving my hand next?"
