Its Your Wish (poem)

Jack bender sat up, wide awake.

Looked at the clock, it was half past eight.

Remembering what his schedule was for the day,

He stood up, washed his face and went to bathe.

Came out of the bathroom, changed, and went to his wife.

Said "good morning" and kissed her twice.

She replied with a warm hug- he felt so nice.

She told him, "breakfast is ready, steamed corn, cereal, and leftover rice"

Eating the breakfast quickly, jack got to the point.

Said, "I have to go meet my cousin, joey clint"

"Joey?" His wife said, "I've never heard of him"

"Yes, its been about  ten years since I met him."

His wife looked puzzled, she demanded an explanation from him.

Jack explained-

Joey and I were bitter enemies back in college time.

I used to hit on his girl for fun, he used to hit on mine.

I was with Jasmine. I liked her. Everything was fine.

When joey crossed a fine line.

And just because I'd hit on her girl, he slept with mine.

Both of us had a reputation in college of being a good soccer player.

For our skills, we were awarded by the mayor.

And for each other, we never did care.

We had a quarrel on who was better.

We were too young then, too arrogant, fought over such a small matter.

I said him I could do better in life.

He said, "Why now, I have a good way to decide.

We'll meet up after 10 years.

We'll have cigars in our mouth, and hands full of cans of beer.

We'll talk about life, talk about who's earned better.

We'll talk about women, laugh, and say cheers.."

I said him, "Bet's on sucker.

As always, you'll turn up to be a loser.

So remember the date, 2013, 15th December.

Rest assured, I won't show off much, will turn up just in my orange Lamborghini with bass booster."

And so after 10 years, he e-mailed me.

Said if I remembered the bet, said he was in the city.

I said, "Yes I do. Let's meet, there's a bar called 'Infinity.'

Take a taxi and just tell him- the bar on the 23rd street.

Come no sooner or later than ten-thirty.

So now, my sweetheart, I gotta get going.

Keeping my word, yeah, that's what I'm doing.

She asked, "So why aren't you dressed as some king?"

He said, "Honestly, I don't care if I lose or win.

I'm just looking forward to mend things with him.

I have changed honey, I gotta make things right, he's my kin. "

So Jack left, saying his wife goodbye. Sat in his car, went for a ride.

He couldn't stop thinking about Joey- did he have a good side?

No he didn't. He always showed off and lied.

But then, a coin never has one side.

Ahh, let's see, what will this meeting decide.

And about my decision of making peace with him, by it, I will abide.

He reached the place where he'd meet his kin.

He waited for joey to be seen.

And as he waited, his imagination took him,

Where he shouldn't have gone. Where he'd never been.

He imagined joey with his wife.

Sleeping with her, oh he so wanted to kill him with a knife.

He remembered the old joey, how he hated him

He got caught up with his old life..

And just then, a car arrived-an orange Lamborghini.

With bass booster, song being played was "Rain over me"

Out stepped a tall fair guy, he was Joey.

Oh Jack's anger was more than ever. He wanted to put joey to sleep forever.

Joey crossed the street, with a smile- a little clever.

Just maybe he had something in mind for our friend Jack bender.

Jack wished for joey to die, harder had he wished never.

He swore that he'd kill him and end it forever.

But just then, a truck at 80 miles an hour.

Hit joey, killed him. There was blood everywhere.

In a moment, jack returned to his senses.

He walked up to joey, of whom there were now just pieces.

Jack fell on his knees, he was crying, there was horror at everyone's faces.

With this, all I can say,

Is be careful what you wish for.

Coz who knows, maybe at the end of the day,

You might get it all, just what you wished for.
