Cole Hafers is mine

Chapter 3

Kylie's POV:

"Hey Stace!" I said, jumping into her Prius. It was 3:30 and I was getting a ride back home from her.

She smiled "Hey Ky"

"Ok. You won't believe what happened. I'm still getting over with my shock. I've been waiting to tell you this in person." I said, breathing hard

"Tell me! What's the 'Oh so amazing news' Kylie Greene?" She said, smirking and elbowing me in the side

"Ok promise you'll believe me" I said
"Promise"
"Oh my god. So it turns out Jacob is friends with Cole Hafers' little brother! I went to drop him of at Cole's house and like, he asked for my number! And like, now I have Cole Hafers' number! Like ohmygodohmygodohmygod I've been thinking about him the whole day! Ohmygodohmygodohmygod" I speed-talked. I was so excited.

"Oh. My. God. Kylie are you for real?" Stacey asked in disbelief
"Yes!" I held up my phone to show her his number
"Wow. Kylie this is unbelievable! Tell your mom we're gonna be late cause we're definitely going out for ice cream."
I texted my mom, my hands still shaking.
I swear I've been thinking about him for the past 20 hours. I even had dreams about him. There were countless times when I picked up my phone and tried to text him, but I always ended up coming up with the wrong approaches like "Heyy there" or "What's up" , I could never think of the right things to say.

"So have you guys texted yet?" Stacey asked
"Nah. You know how I am with texting boys. I guess I'm just gonna wait until he texts me first." I responded

As if on queue, I got a text from him.
"Ooo who's that?" Stacey asked
"It's him!" I replied excitedly
"Oh my god! I'll leave you guys be" she said, keeping her eyes on the road while smirking.

'Hey Kylie. What's up?'
'Meh. Not much'
'How ya doin?'
'Pretty good. Hbu?'
'Just chillin'
'Kool'
'So I was wondering, would you like to hang out this weekend? I'm gonna go to the beach with some friends'

Hold up. Does this mean I get to see Cole Hafers shirtless?

'But its in the middle of fall...'
'Who says we play by rules?'
'I'm in.'
'Great'
---Silence---
'By the way your brother told me you've seen my musicallys ;)'
'Im gonna kill him'
'Haha it's ok cutie. I don't mind. It doesn't change how I think about you'
'Umm... what'
'Never mind bye'
'Bye Cole'

"Stacey. I think Cole just told me he has feelings for me"I exclaimed
The people sitting next to us in the ice cream shop started staring at us.
"Kylie keep it down! What did he say?" She answered quietly
"He called me a cutie and he said 'it doesn't change the way I feel about you.' Isn't he admitting? You have a lot more experience with boys."

"Hmm... I don't know Kylie. I've never dated a celebrity. Maybe he talks like that to all of his fans. I wouldn't get my hopes up."
That kinda made me disappointed.
"You haven't even touched your ice cream yet! If you're not gonna have it, I will." Stacey said, pointing to my vanilla soft-serve ice cream cone. I had almost forgot we were getting ice cream. I immediately started licking my ice cream cone because I know when Stacey says that, she's not joking.

"I'm gonna meet up with Cole on Saturday. We're going to the beach with some of his friends." I said, starting a conversation.

"That was so quick. He's already introducing you to his friends? Didn't you guys just meet like yesterday?" She said smirking.
"Yeah well who says we play by rules?" I said. I was so thankful that Stacey wasn't mad or anything about me meeting Cole. From movies and stuff, the best friend always gets jealous or something.
I got home at 4:15.
"Jacob!" I yelled while storming in his room "You told Cole that I watch him?!"
"Uh... well he was gonna find out at some point" He said, glueing his eyes back on the video game system.
"I'm not kidding when I say I hate you" I said slamming his door.

I finished my homework and watched TV, all while having my phone close by just in case Cole texted me again. After dinner, I practiced guitar, washed the dishes, and did my usual routine, all while thinking of Cole.

It was 9:55 by the time I was in bed.

Incoming FaceTime call from Cole 😍 Hafers...
I picked up.

"Hey Kylie"

"Cole, this better be important. It's almost 10:00"

"Just wanted to check in" he said, winking
I tried to keep from blushing.

"Also, I don't want you to feel awkward or anything, but all my friends that are going to the beach are all couples so..." He rubbed the back of his neck.

"So why would you bring me then?" I said, smirking

"I... uh..." he stuttered

"I'm just kidding. I'll be there."

"K" he smiled awkwardly. His eyes were so innocent. The greyness was stunning. So of course, being my dumb self, I had to say something about it.

"I love your eyes." I said over FaceTime. I immediately regretted saying that. I embarrass myself way too often. But at least that got him to smile which I swear, its the definition of heaven.

"I love your eyes too." He said, his face reddening. By then, we were both the color of the autumn maple leaves outside. The chat was getting super awkward.

"Well goodnight Kylie. See ya mate." He said, breaking the awkward silence.

"'Night Cole" I responded. I hung up.

Then I lied in bed, grinning foolishly into my pillow.
