Chapter 1.5

Kylie's POV:

The next day, I got up to the sound of Lulu, my puppy. We just adopted her a couple weeks ago from a nearby adoption center. Lulu is a small english bulldog mix with grey fur and blue eyes. Right when we got her, I could immediately feel a bond between me and her.

Well Lulu woke me up at 5:45 am because she needed to go on her early walk. I felt her little tongue licking all over my face.

  After we came back from the walk, it had already been 6:15. This walk had taken longer than usual because I decided to take a detour, just to enjoy the autumn breeze. When I got back home, I immediately went upstairs, put on a white lacy shirt, jeans, and my favorite infinity scarf. I quickly did my makeup and my hair and ran downstairs to get my breakfast.   My mom had made me a breakfast sandwich so I quickly scarfed it down while putting on my boots.

   "You're leaving already?" My mom asked while walking towards me.

   "Yeah I've got to meet up with Stacey. We said we were gonna grab some coffee on the way to school."
  Stacey has been my best friend since 1st grade even though she was a grade above me. She has long light brown hair and green eyes. She was a little taller than me. We decided that every Monday before school, we would stop by Starbucks and grab something to take to class. It was pretty convenient, being that Starbucks was only a couple minutes from my house if I walked fast. Then Stacey would drive me to school.

  I was speed walking over to Starbucks and finally saw Stacey waving at me from inside the window.

"Good morning Ky" Stacey greeted

"Hey" I breathed out, exhausted from the speed walk here

"Did you order for me yet?" I asked

"Duh. What did you expect? Iced coffee with milk and extra whipped cream? Done. But I still can't understand why you would have whipped cream with iced coffee."

"Well I don't understand how people could have iced coffee WITHOUT whipped cream" I laughed.

"Ice coffee and caramel mocha for...Stacey?" The Starbucks bartender called.

We quickly took our drinks and hopped in the car. Stacey had a pretty decent car, a 2016 Toyota Prius.
As Stacey was driving, my phone accidentally slipped out from my pocket. (Not to mention, this morning I was looking through Cole Hafers again)
Stacey looked down at my phone that was somehow unlocked. It was showing one of Cole's musical.lys.

"Oooh who's thatt?" Stacey smirked

"What?"

"The hot guy on your phone. Who's that?"

I reached in my pocket for my phone but didn't feel it there. Instead, I saw it face up on my seat.

"Oh it's nothing." I said, slightly embarrassed while tucking the phone back in my pocket

"Doesn't look like nothing to me." She replied "What's his name?"

I couldn't really lie to Stacey. She's known me for too long.

"His name is Cole Hafers. He's kinda a social media star."

"Aww that's cute. You finally got a celebrity crush." Stacey teased.

"Who said I had a crush?" I felt my face getting hot

"He's a cute guy, and obviously you've been looking at him this morning" Stacey smiled

She knew me too well.

"Fine, I admit, I have been looking at him for a couple hours over the weekend. Y'know he's actually from Franklin! He's my age too" I chuckled nervously

•••••TIME SKIP•••••
   After school ended, Stace dropped me back off at home.
"How's your day?" My mom asked
"Regular"
"You know I'm not liking these one word answers"
I rolled my eyes. "Hi mom. My day was good. Thanks for asking" I said sarcastically
"That's more like it" Mom said

    I went upstairs and plopped down on my bed. Again, I was staring at that super-hot Cole Hafers. I did do homework for half an hour, but the rest of the time, I was watching one hell of a cutie, Cole Hafers. Since he's from the exact place I live, I wonder if I've ever seen him. Nah. Probably not. If I've ever seen him walking on the street or something, I would've remembered.

     I guess I had a spent a long time in my room because by the time my mom called me and Jacob down for dinner, it had felt like I only came home from school an hour ago. For dinner we had over-salty steak and green beans.

"So... was there anything special that happened at school today?" My mom asked, trying to break the silence.

Jacob had his mouth full of food but somehow, he still managed to speak
"Oh yeah, today there was a new kid named Shane. He was pretty funny. I let him sit with us at lunch today. He said he has a big brother. They've been in Franklin for a while."He said

"Aww how nice Jacob. What happened for you today Kylie?"

"Meh. It was mostly regular. Except this one kid threw up in the middle of biology class. It was pretty gross."
"Huh. Poor kid" Mom said
"Yup."

After I finished dinner, I helped wash the dishes, practiced guitar, and took Lulu for her last walk of the day. By 9 o'clock I had already showered and was starting to get ready for bed. I put on my onesie and went fast asleep.

Shane... sounds like a nice little guy.
