Khaliah
I can't be, I'm running late on my first day of my internship. Really Khaliah make a bad impression on the first day. Unfreaking believable.
I'm majoring in journalism to become a reporter. Luckily out of all the students in my journalism class my professor choose me for the internship.
She said it's a once in a lifetime chance because she got a friend, that got a friend, that knows a friend that was able to pull some strings for me.
Putting on my Jordan's I said why not? My professor didn't tell me what I would be doing, but she said I would be in a more casual environment not formal.
"Here goes nothing," I said as I grabbed my keys and left my dorm. My roommate wasn't there so I felt I should hurry and leave before she comes.
She's majoring in journalism too. When my professor told the entire class one person would get the internship everyone wanted it. My roommate has been talking about it nonstop
How she thinks she deserves it and what not. I'm going to tell her soon I just don't know when. I promised myself it would be sooner rather than later.

I walked into the huge facility looking for my mentor Allyson. Turning to my left and right I saw pictures of Allen Iverson, few Championship banners, etc.I knew exactly what this was. A
Damn internship with the Philadelphia 76ersHopefully they have older people meaning they are most likely going to be more mature.
"Oh, hi you must be Khaliah. I know there was lots of traffic on the way up. So I understand way you were late."
I didn't tell her why I was late, because traffic wasn't the reason. I actually overslept didn't hear my alarm go off.
"So Mrs.Smit--," she cut me off.
"Oh! No call Allyson we're all friends here." She said grabbing a doughnut and continuing to walk.
"Well Allyson. Who actually will I be reporting on? If you don't mind me asking."
"Oh! Of course not. You'll be working with the Philadelphia entire team, from the top to the bottom. So grab that pass, microphone and notepad.
I'm wishing you well wishes. I will be checking on you throughout the day. Just shoot me an e-mail if you have any questions."
She said walking off. The click clacking of her heels fading. I put the pass around my neck and walked in seeing several sweaty, and shirtless bodies.
I took a deep breathe and approached who I knew to be Joel Embiid. He follows me on Instagram and I follow back. So he is by default the only person I know.
"Hello Mister Em--."
"Oh my god you're that girl on IG." He said fan girling over me. When he's the celebrity here.
"Liah__xo correct?" He said stating my insta name."That is indeed me. But, here I'm not Liah__xo I am Khaliah or Miss Hodges. Now can I ask you a few questions?"
He nodded his head wiping the sweat off his face.
I began to count down with my fingers to give him the heads up like it is time to be professional.
I started the recorder I brought instead of using the microphone and camera thingy, because I didn't set it up. I just decided to jump on in. No notes on my notepad or anything.
"Okay Mister Embiid," I said as he nodded his head. "How does the start of the season feel?"
"It feels good. We're not where we want to be but we are slowly approaching that peak." He said.
"And how do you feel you are performing so far this season?"
"I'm performing better than I did my freshman year in the league. But I also have things I can modify to make my style of play better."
He smiled.
"One last thing before you go. What rookie has impressed you the most?"
"Uh--uh all. And I'm not just saying that so they all won't jump me," he laughed. "No but seriously they are all coming in with great knowledge and they all have done impressive things to help this organization."
I cut the recorder off thanking him for allowing me the interview.
"Thanks again Joel."
"No problem Liah__xo." I rolled my eyes and giggled. He's definitely something else.
"See ya later," he said walking off. "And I'm going to DM you so respond." He said jogging back to their practice.
