Other people than Yuuichirou and his family are still not accustomed to a vampire roaming around their city.

When Yuu and him went shopping for the perfect gifts for Yoichi and Shinya's birthdays (because they're back-to-back, damn it), Mika noticed the fearful and resentful faces of the vendors and how even a couple clutched garlic beneath the counters.

While Mika acted like their unfriendly behavior didn't bother him, it really did. He hated that he was a monster. He disliked humans, so he had no idea why their opinions would bother him, but it still got to him.

Yuuichirou noticed Mika's distant behavior when they got home. As an attempt to cheer him up, he wrapped his arms around his hips from behind and rested his forehead on his shoulder while Mikaela despondently began making dinner for Yuu, because he couldn't cook for shit.

Yuu dragged Mika out onto the couch and cuddled with him while having a movie marathon. Mika knew that those people's opinions did not matter. The only opinion he needed was his Yuu-chan's.
