No Going Back...

Chapter 5: New Life

Kaley, Hanna, Skyler, and I were siting at our usual lunch table. They were eating the lunches that their parents sent with them, Kaley's mother had sent me with a ham sandwich and a few snacks, it's been different living with Kaley and her Mom, Dad, two brothers and older sister. They have a lot of rules but at lest there house doesn't smell like alcohol and there giving me a place to live, but I need to get my own soon. "Ash?" I hear one of the girls say as I snap out of my daydream. "Sorry, I guess I'm just not very focused right now." I say trailing off "It's ok" Hanna says "with all the things you've been going through the past week, I don't think anyone would be." Skyler finishes, they all look at me sympathetically and I start tearing up, "Thanks, you guys have all been so supportive through all this." Suddenly I hear a boys voice behind me and turn around "awe, look at that! The big baby's cryin!" Says a tall boy with muscular arms and a gruff voice, "wh- who are you?!?!" I half yell, but I already know. This boy is Danny, he makes it his mission to make everyone feel like crap and I don't need that right now, "Oh, don't tell me you've never heard of me before!" He rolled his eyes. "No, I've heard of you." I say and turn back to my friends, but he reaches down and grabs my shoulder and digs his nails in to it. I want to scream but I hold it in, my eyes watering. "Hey! No one turns away from me when I'm talking!" He yells at me, then his grip lets go and he fall to the ground, behind him is James looking down at him, "James?!?!? What did you do?!?!" I ask "I- I couldn't let him hurt you...." He replies still looking down, the girls behind me are all in shock over what just happened, "Ash..." I turn around to see that it was Hanna who spoke. "We better get going, Danny's going to want revenge more then ever," I nod and everyone quickly packs up there lunches and we run out the door, I look back and see James still standing there. I run back and grab his hand "your coming with me," I say and smile, running back out the door with his hand in mine......
