Chapter 7: Geting Ready

"So are you guys like, a thing now!" Kaley asked me from over the counter in her kitchen, and I almost spit out the water I'm trying drink "wh-What?!?!" I say trying not to choke "you and James, Duh! Your always around each other and you go out with him every night after school, it's obvious that something's going on between you two!" She says back trying to act like she know everything, "well, were just becoming close friends. Sorry to. Burst your bubble..." I trail off reambering the first time we went out, and the rain coming down, we had been going to the park everyday after school got out and walking around talking about whatever we wanted, "ok now your lying to my face," she stood there with her hands on her hips, "no I'm not," I say sounding not to sure of myself "oh come on! You Space out every time someone brings up his name, you blush when you see him coming, and for God's Sake! You don't think we noticed when you walked into school holding his hand!" I blush, I didn't think anyone saw that. "Ok, you win... James and I have been dating for about two weeks now." I look to the floor smiling. Kaley walks over, grabs my hands and starts jumping up and down with me, "this is amazing Ash! You have a boyfriend!" She squeals "shh!" I say laughing "you don't want to wake up the whole house," but it was to late, Kaleys older sister Sarah walked into the kitchen "would you two mind shutting the f- up!" She said sleepily, "sorry Sara," I mumble and look at the time, good thing it the weekend or we would be late for school. Suddenly I hear my phone ring, I look down at the number, "sorry, I've got to take this." And I run down the hall in to the room I'm staying in, "James?" I ask picking up the phone, "Hey Babe!" He replies, and I blush even though no one can see me. "What's up?" I ask trying to calm myself down "oh, see I was wondering if you wanted to go out, like to lunch or something... It was just a thought you don't have to if you don't want to..." Awe, even after two weeks he still is shy when he asks me out, "Definitely! I'd love to," I smile but again no one is there, "ok I'll pick you up at Kaley's house around noon, ok?" He says sounding more relaxed "ok, see you then! Byeee" I say "Byeee" he replies, I hang up and run out into the kitchen again grinning, "waoh, calm down! I haven't seen you smile this much since before the accident!" Kaley laughed "I have a date with James! Like a real one!" I smile even more and her eyes light up, "that's grate! What are you going to where? When is he coming? Where are you going?" She asks "oh um.... I don't know, noon, and I don't know," I shrug, Kaley grabs my hand and drags me to her room, "well seeing as most of your clothes are just everyday going to school stuff I figured you could ware something of mine!" She smiles and makes me sit in the bed well she walks over to her closet and throws dresses at me to try on, "Kaley! How am I suppose to know witch one to where?" I ask with my arms full of different dresses, "first, pick out the ones you like. Then try them on and come and show me, I'll then tell you yes or no, got it!" She smiles and goes out in the hall, I start sorting the dresses I pick out a few and lie them down, first I try on a black and white sundress that flows at the bottom, I walk out into the hall, "what do you think?" I ask, "maybe a little to summery..." She says and I walk back in, then I try a Blue pencil dress, and walk back into the hall, "it's to professional looking," Kaley says and I walk back in siting on the bed, I look around and see a purple dress hiding under a few others, I pick it up and try it on, it has a black ribbon around my wast and it was a dark violet dress with sparkling stars all over the skirt, I spin in fount of the mirror. I walk out into the hall and Kaley smiles, "perfect!" She says, and the leads me to the bath room and sits me down on the eage of the tub, "what now?" I ask, as she pulls out a bag from under the sink. "I'm going to do your makeup," she says and pulls out her eye shadow kit, I close my eyes and let her work. I don't normally where makeup but today I guess I don't have a choice, when Kaley finishes I look in the mirror. "Wow..." Is all I manage to say, she did a purple and black smoky eye and put on blush, foundation and lip gloss, "thank you Kaley!" I say and smile, "no problem!" We hear a knock on the door, "and just in time!" She pushes me to the door, I open it and James is standing there in a sort of dress shirt and jeans. "h- hi," I manage and he just kinda stares, "you look amazing..." He says and I, once again, blush. "All because of Kaley," I turn to point at her but she was gone, "well, shall we?" Ha said holing the door and bowing like a gentlemen, I giggle at this but play along, "yes we shall," I say and he leads me down the rode, I love living in the city being so close to everything so that we don't have to rely on anyone to take us anywhere and we can be alone with our thoughts and each other..........
