Three days later...

I walked into work, loud music blared out of speakers that were placed all around and conversations were happening everywhere. I work inside of a shop, I own half of Ej's Barbershop to be exact. I cut hair, as you probably can tell I'm no ordinary girly girl I've been around guys my whole life, girls never took a liking to me because I hung around guys and they thought I was trying to steal their man but that was never the case they were just cool to hang around. Anyways walking to my booth people greeted me with "what's up D?", and "Morning Lia." I greeted everyone back with a smile or a "hey, how you doing?". I sat down on my barber chair the put my bag on the floor beside my feet, sighing softly my body was tired I barely got sleep last night, I looked around the shop for any of my regulars I had a couple of appointments today.

I heard the bell of the front door ring meaning someone was entering, knowing who it is I roll my eyes focusing on my phone, ignoring his presence. See I haven't talked to him since he came over to my house three days ago, he continues going ghost on me and I don't like it one bit. Make me feel like he up to some foul shit behind scenes and was trying to avoid my ass.

"Hey, Lia Bia." He says calling by the nickname he created for me, finally making his way over to me.

"Fuck off," I mumble with much attitude as I continued to play a game on my phone waiting for my client to come, I was ready to shake the spot already.

Frowning, he grabs me up by my arm pulling me out of the chair leading me to the back and into his office. I snatched my arm out of his grip, folding my arms across my chest.

"Wha' the fuck is your problem D?!"He asks me angrily sitting behind his desk.

Who the hell his light skin bow leg ass think he was trying to manhandle, had me fucked up.

"I'm talkin' ta ya stubborn ass son..."

"Nigga who you think you talking to? Go back to missing in action, my client about to come I need to get back out there. Is there anything else you need "boss"?" I mug him.

He stood up mugging me back, "Chill ya ass out man."

"I'm good B." I shook my head at him walking out of his office and back to my station. I began setting up my clippers then starting to sterilize everything making sure everything is clean and in its place. My regular walked in right in time, I dapped him up then he sat in my chair. I put the cape around his neck adjusting it properly over him.

I saw Ej come out of his office and walk straight out the front door, I rolled my eyes at him this was all his fault, dramatic ass boy. I start on my client's head as we indulge in a light conversation.

20 mins later...

I pull up in front of my dad's house, cutting the car off I was done with the few clients I had today so I drove over to my dad's house I haven't seen him in a couple of days due to my busy schedule. I took pride in cutting hair, I wanted to open a shop of my own one day. My dad is the one who taught me how to cut hair when I was younger, he taught me everything he could on being independent and not ever needing a man. Once I learned the ropes of cutting hair all my cousins and my brother wanted me to cut their hair, they use to pay me 20 dollars a cut. So had a little job at the age of 10 years old.

Looking down at my phone, I see all the missed calls from Ej.

Frowning I cut off my phone, throwing it in the passenger seat, him knowing my history I would never think he would do me that way. I mean he helped me through most of what I went through. Shaking my head, I opened the car door getting out then closing the door behind me locking it, walking up to my dad's front door I pulled my key out unlocking the door then walking in. Closing the door I locked it behind me walking further into the house passing the foyer.

"Dad!" I yelled walking into the living room sitting my side bag and my keys down on the couch, plopping down on the couch with a sigh, tired as can be.

"Is that my babygirl?" My dad replies, descending the stairs.

I look behind me smiling brightly as I felt my heart light up in my chest I stand up, meeting him halfway we embraced each other in a tight hug. I love my dad, he's always been my superhero. When my mom left, he was my rock he always stayed strong through the bad days. He supported me through everything I wanted to do never left my side even after his marriage failed and he was left to provide for me, he made everything happen. So I've always called him the superhero that saved me.

"Hi daddy, I missed you. How have you been?" I ask as we release each other from the hug, sitting down.

"I've been a good baby girl but enough about me, who made you cry?"He looked me in my eyes, with anger and worry written all over his face.

I smiled wiping my tears away, "Nobody papa I just missed you so much, everytime I'm with you the weight lifts off my shoulders."

The worried expression disappeared from his face and was replaced with a smile, "Awww my princess. Still won't stop me from whopping your behind little girl, why haven't you been to see me. It felt like a year!" He threw his arms up into the hair putting his dramatics into it.

I laughed shaking my head, this man is a character.

"I apologize papa. How about I stay here tonight and we have movie night like we use to, how does that sound old man?" I joked taking my shoes off heading towards the stairs.

He gasped, "No you didn't just call me old sista girl, hold on let me tie my hair up. You bought to get an old ass whopping." He tied up his imaginary hair then charged towards the stairs. I laughed uncontrollably running as fast as I could towards my old room. "You gotta be quicker than that OLD MAN!!!"

On the other side of town, back at the shop...

Ej.
"Fuck." I mumble gripping the girl's hair that was giving me head in my office.

"You like that daddy?"
