Sowjin - A Family

Sowon POV

I was walking to my home from school. It was a cloudy day since the morning. I heard thunder and I knew what was next. It started raining and I wasn't surprised. Dang it, I should have brought my umbrella with me! I thought.
I took off my coat and covered my book bag since it was more important. I tried to rush home to not get too wet(😏)but someone held my wrist.
I turned around and saw Jin, my crush.
"Sowon, why didn't you bring an umbrella! You could get a cold!" He said slightly angry.
I was confused that he cared about my health. He put his umbrella over the both of us.
"Why do you even care! It's not like I'm important to you!"I responded. I was mad because I saw him with a girl at lunch, they looked very close so I got jealous.
"Because I love you Sowon."
I was shocked and froze.
"Jin-" he didn't let me finish my words and kissed my lips slowly. He took my first kiss.
"Jin!" I slightly yelled separating from the kiss.
"What about the girl you were with in lunch?" I questioned
"Oh her? She's my cousin that come back from America. She transferred to our school yesterday."
I sighed in relief.
"Why? Were you jealous?" Jin teased.
"Ya! Who wouldn't." I responded
"Sowon-ah, when I said I love you I really meant it. I've been in love with you for 2 years now. Please accept my confession." He said
"Jin.... of course I will!"
A smile appeared on his face and he leaned in to kiss me.

There we were kissing in the rain.

Info: they finished school 3 yrs ago.

Jin POV

"Jin where are you taking me!" Sowon yelled happily.
"You'll see when we get there" I respond sweetly while covering her eyes.

"Were here!" I yelled.
"Jin!.... this is so beautiful! This is the best date you have ever planned yet!"
We were at a beach, in the sun set.

I pulled the chair out so she could sit then I pushed her chair in. I took my seat and looked at her.
"Sowon-ah, what do you want to eat today?"
" I don't know I'm just so distracted by this view!" She said happily.
I'm so glad that she loves she date place.
The waitress comes and asks for our orders. We both tell him our orders and he leaves.
"Sowon-ah I'm very happy that you are enjoying this night. This night is going to be special."
"Jin...what do you mean special?" She asked.
I dropped my fork
"Ah, my fork fell"
I got down on my knees, Sowon's eyes widen. "Jin..."
I take out a box and open it to reveal a diamond ring.
"Sowon, we have been dating for 3 years now. Since the day we started dating I fell deeper in love with you every day. I want to spend every day, every hour, every minute, every second with you. I want my future with you in it. Sowon, the love of my life, will you marry me?"

"Jin... I would gladly be your wife!" She jumped and hugged me as I got up.
"I love you Sowon" I said and hugged her.
"I love you too Jin oppa"

Sowon POV

We have been married for a year now. I couldn't be any happier than ever. We were dating but now we are married. Jin has been acting a bit strange now a days. I mean, when we were dating, the same thing would happen but only once or twice a month. Every day he coughs a lot and hits his chest. I asked if he was alright and he would always tell me to not worry. He is a bit sensitive so I just let him be but I know something is wrong. He always hugs me and kisses me more than usual. He wants to start a family, and I agree with him. We tried multiple times but we weren't able to get a positive in the pregnancy test.
"Honey, it's okay. We will start a family soon. Maybe it's just not the time." I said to him." Can we at least give it one last shot?" He responded. I hesitated a bit because I thought something was wrong with me. Would if I can't have children. I accepted and we gave it a shot. The next morning I wake up to Jin crying.
"Jin? Why are you crying?" I asked.
"Sowon-ah, my beautiful wife, I'm just disappointed that we might not have a child. If we don't have a child, how will you remember me?"
"Jin...what do you mean remember you? Are you leaving me? Oppa! Is something wrong?" Tears start to fall off my cheeks.
"Oppa... please... I don't understand what your saying but please don't leave me." I said crying on him.

Jin POV

I'm sorry sowon, but I have no choice.
I get up and leave still crying. I didn't want to see her cry because of me. I should have told her earlier.

Sowon POV

I was just leaving my work but then my phone rings.

Nothing-caller
Hello?
Hello...is this Kim Seokjin's wife?
Yes, why?
We are calling from the hospital to inform you that your husband has passed away.
What? no...No...NO PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS A JOKE!

I drop down against my office door and began to cry. Jin, why did you have to leave me here all alone. I got up and drove to the hospital. I rushed to the front desk and asked for the room number. I run to the room and slowly open the doors. There I see Jin laying on the bed so peaceful. I walk up to his bed and stare at his forever young face. I hold his hand and began to cry. Why did he die so suddenly? What did I do to deserve this? I don't think I could live without him. I want to be with him in the afterlife. I look around and find a envolpe with my name written on it. I open it and read it.

Dear Sowon,

I'm really sorry for not telling you about my death threatening illness. I thought it would be best to not tell you so I wouldn't see you worried or see you cry every night worrying about me. I have been sick for 5 years. I wanted to spend my last years of  life with you. I know you might have found it strange of why I wanted a child so badly. I wanted you to have piece of me before I left. But sadly we didn't accomplish it. I wanted to leave a rememberence of me so you will never forget me. My last wish before I died was to have a family with you sowon-ah. I planned it from the day I first saw you in high school. I know you will be suffering because of my death but don't worry, I'll be right by your side holding your hand.
Sowon, the love of my life and after life...let's meet in heaven soon.

Tears drop on the letter as I read. He did this all for me. I will always remember you Jin.

2 weeks pass

I walk to the grave of Jin with flowers. I dressed all black today. As I reach his stone I kneel down and lay the flowers on the tomb stone.
Kim seokjin, a beloved husband I read
I began to cry and stare at the flowers. At the bottom of the tomb stone it says
"I will hold your hand in this cruel world"
I look up,
"Jin, I will always have a place for you in my heart no matter how many years pass. I have a surprise for you Jin oppa," I said crying while holding my stomach.

"I'm pregnant"
