Part 17 - The Secret Revealed

Krist awakens in the hospital two weeks later, he slowly opened his eyes but the eyelids feel heavy and the sight is still blurry, he blinks for some time to adapt to the light before can fully open it, and after a while, he realizes that he just alone in the room. He tried to get up but feels hurt in his stomach, he then check for it and saw a bandage. He tries to recall his last memory, and after a while remembers everything that happened. He then forcefully pull out the infusion needle from his hand and get down from the bed, but as he tried to take a step forward, the leg was unable to lift the body like it lost power, so he fell to the floor in a second. Suddenly someone comes in and found him crawling on the floor and quickly help him to get up.

"Mr. Suktalordkan?!" Krist exclaimed in surprise.

"So, you're wake up?"

"How are you to be here? Where am I?"

"What are you remember?" Mook's father asked. "Don't you know where we are?"

Krist looked at him in confusion then raise his hand to look at the patient's name tag on his left hand. "Suktalordkan New Hospital, how can I get here?"

"Yep, it was an emergency, they send you here to have surgery, and another reason is that you had this hospital insurance from your previous company."

"Am I dying?"

"Not anymore..." replied Mr. Suktalordkan. "I heard what was happened to you, I'm sorry."

"How long was I unconscious?"

"Around two weeks. Your wounded were severe, you also lost a lot of blood."

"Thank you for saving me and taking care of me, tell me how to repay it."

"Don't mention it, you're like a son to me. Just take good care of yourself!" said Mr. Suktalordkan. "Mook worries about you."

"Where is she? Is she alright?"

"She's fine. She works at the moment, but she always comes at night to visit you after work." Mr. Suktalordkan pats his shoulder and said. "Alright, enough talking, since you had been conscious, I shall take you to someplace. Someone wants to see you."

"Who?"

"You'll know it later. Let's go!" he then call a nurse and help Krist to get into the wheelchair.

They arrive at a private room on the top level of the building. Mook's father pushes the wheelchair carefully and gets into the room. Krist feels so curious but he trusts the old man. As they entered, he see Nam sitting on the sofa in the large living room waiting for them. Mr. Suktalordkan greet his wife for a while then left them alone afterward.

Krist look at her for a while and remember the girl he saw in the music gallery some time ago, and he smiled. They look like two different women, the young were so innocent and a very nice girl, compare to the woman in front of him now who was far from innocent, arrogant, and dishonest. He certainly has so many questions wanted to ask her, but he still doesn't have enough proof to confront her now. Yet, he thinks this is a chance since it's her who asks to see him and this place seems so private enough.

"Glad to see you back in one piece." Nam greeted him. "How's your condition?"

"Why do you ask to see me?" asked Krist to the point.

"I'm worried about you," replied Nam. "But, you seem don't like to talk so let's get to the point. Do you see the one who attacked you?"

"What? How do you know?"

"I've heard what happened, so maybe we could make some report to the police."

"Just like that?" asked Krist suspiciously. "I don't think it necessary. I also didn't see the culprit, he covered my eyes when attacked me."
