Archie stared ahead as the voice of his girlfriend of five months filled his ears.
"Archie, are you even listening to me?" The girl whined slightly, eyes ghosting over Archie's face.
"Yeah, Veronica, I'm listening don't worry."
Veronica just nodded and continued, chattering about something like a new sale on designer purses? Archie didn't know, and to put it frankly, he didn't care.
A few more moments ticked by, Archie becoming increasingly annoyed. He glanced at the clock with a sigh, eyebrows raising at the time.
"Ah, sorry Veronica! I gotta go, I promised Jug I would hangout with him today."
Veronica nodded with a sigh, dark eyelashes hiding the expression written in her eyes. Their relationship had been like this for the last month or so, Archie slowly becoming more and more distant. Veronica had yet to notice, but Archie could tell that time would be steadily on it's way. He honestly had stopped caring awhile ago, he had his sights set on something else, or technically, someone else. Jughead. He wanted him. Needed him. He even became a serpent for him... Archie has yet to tell Jug that though. He's with Betty and Archie doesn't want to be responsible for ruining his bestie's and love interest's relationship. It probably wouldn't turn out well.
As Archie got up to leave, he waved a small goodbye to Veronica, drawing out a slight smile from her. If their was one thing Veronica had noticed a lack of in their relationship, it was intimacy.
Archie swiftly got in his car, texting Jug to let him know he was on the way.
\\Hey Jug, omw//
*Okay, Arch see you soon*
\\Can't wait//
*Me neither, <3*
Their texts were always friendly, almost too friendly if you asked either's girlfriend. Good thing they didn't. Jughead always thought that's how friends were supposed to text. To some it was completely normal, but to most it wasn't. Archie was better with social aspects of life, well... was better at life in general, but he loved texting Jug like this. His jug. His one and only.
Archie smiled as he drove, headed to Jug's house. They were going to go see a movie then stop and get a milkshake at Pop's. Archie wouldn't trade this friendship for the world, but he would trade it to have something a little bit more than friendship.
He pulled into the drive way with a smirk. Bright eyes mischievous as Jug headed towards his car.
"Hey, Arch." He voiced with a smile. Jughead was a beautiful creature. At least in Archie's eyes. Pretty, porcelain skin, dark eyes, plump, pale pink lips. He was tiny, twinkish, short, thin. Archie loved it. Archie loved how submissive Jug looked. He ate it up.
"Hey Jug, how's it hanging?"
Jughead just smiled larger, lips stretching across his face. "What movie we seein' Archie?"
"There's a showing of the IT mini series today, you wanna see that."
Jughead nodded "Yeah, sure. Sounds good to me."
With that Archie sped off, radio swiftly being turned on.
Jughead knew the words by heart, head bobbing along to music. Full plush lips mouthing each and every syllable.
Archie loved moments like these. They were simple, they were beautiful, they were golden, they were treasured. He didn't need anyone else in life as long as he had his Jug. That's what he thought, that's what he stuck with. Jughead would learn to love him. He had to.
Archie pulled into the theater after maybe thirty minutes in the car. After the drive-in closed they had to drive much farther to see any form of live movie. It was worth it though, especially when he was with Jug.
"You ready, Juggy?" Archie questioned with a grin.
"Oh, Archie, I was born ready!"
They both got out, excitement radiating off the pair. They were both horror fanatics and just move fanatics in general. When Jughead says he was born ready he means it.
They walk into the theater, cheap dollar store Halloween decorations strewn over the walls and floor. This put a goofy smile on Jugheads face, this was the first time he had been truly happy in awhile.
As they walked up to buy their tickets, Jughead took a moment to study Archie's features. His soft looking, floppy red hair. His even softer looking chocolate brown eyes. How his tight shirt clung to his muscles, especially his arms. How even when leaning over to rest on the counter before him, Archie stood a good three inches taller than him.
"You ready to go watch this kick ass movie?"
Jughead stepped back slightly "Oh, uh yeah Arch, let's go!"
