When I entered, an owl hooted from my window, with a letter attached to its leg. I took the letter in my hand, and gave some biscuit crumbs I had saved for owls. When the owl had took off into the night sky, I turned on my lamp and opened the letter:

To Mr. Draco Malfoy,

We are writing to advise you that you will have to come two weeks earlier to meet some of your schoolmates from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. We will meet at Diagon Alley, next to The Leaky Caldron, on the 17th of July.

Thank you,

Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

I was confused by this curious letter. Why would Dumbledore want us to meet at Diagon Alley, the 17th of July, in a week? It was all very mysterious, and Dumbledore wouldn’t call if it wasn’t very urgent. I thought about seeing Crabbe and Goyle again and I was quite happy about it, and being able to make fun of Harry, Ron and Hermione. I would have a laugh with them.

I found my mother reading Witch Weekly. She turned around and smiled at me. My mother is the only person I actually feel that loves me because I’m me, not what I’m going to be. I smiled back at her, and sat down beside her.

“What’s for dinner?” I asked her.

“I don’t know. Why don’t you go and ask Carrie? She’ll be preparing dinner by now.”

“Mum, Hogwarts has just sent me a letter” I said, remembering the weird script.

I handed it to her, and she read it carefully, her glasses sliding down her nose. When she finished, she gave it back, and told me:

“You’ll have to go, and see what they want.”

I nodded at her, and went back to my room to leave the letter. Jusifer was sleeping on my bed, purring softly. I kicked it hard, and with a grunt of disgust, he went out of the room with its tail in the air.

“Stupid creature” I muttered to myself, and got into the bed, still thinking about the letter.
