I turn around in my little hole in the wall of the train tunnel. It's midnight and I just can't sleep. Ella's story about the ''hooded wanderer'' is disturbing me a lot. I sigh and let myself slide out of my little bed.

Wait.

I raise my ears and open my eyes wide.

Something is at the end of the tunnel. Someone is in here.

'Who's there?'

No response.

Click.

A flashlight is turned on, I can see the beam illuminating some of the broken down walls.

'Hello?'

The flashlight stops moving. Its beam is focussed on the ground.

Still, there's a silence.

The intruder may be a human- that's why they don't respond. Logically, I should attack- but what if it's just a lost child?

The beam of light starts moving again. Very slowly, very carefully, it slides across the floor. The overgrown, rusty track is revealed.

I start approaching the stranger. I can't make out their figure at all.

The beam is suddenly directed towards me. I stand there, in my beast form, looking straight into the light. I quickly cover my eyes with my paws. I can see the light is turned off from the corner of my eye. When I look up, there is a girl with long, dark hair towering over me. Her bangs cover her eyes- who seem to be different colors, green and blue, perhaps- and her face is covered by freckles. I stand up again, and investigate her further. She's standing on her toes, one of her hands holding on to the flashlight like it's going to save her life. She doesn't say anything.

'Hello?' I ask again, still in demonic speech.

She opens her mouth for a split second, and by doing so reveals two long fangs.

'I knew you could understand me.'

'Is this your place?' She whispers, in pure, fluent demonic speech.

'Well, not really, I guess.'

'Is it okay if I spend the night here? I shall leave in the morning.'

'As I said, it's not my place. No need to be so formal, you can stay here as long as you'd like, just don't invite random people here.'

'No, no. I'm leaving tomorrow. I got places to be.'

'Uh, sure.' I start to walk away from her, but she stops me.

'One more thing-'

'Yeah?'

'Are you really a demon?'

I gaze at her, confused. 'Yeah, I wouldn't be able to speak demonic if I wasn't, right?'

'There are humans that can speak demonic too.'

'Do I look like a human to you?'

'You reek of one.'

My jaw almost hits the floor.

'Just what kind of demon are you, being able to smell that humans have been around some random creature?'
