Mugman had always loved walking through the forest, each day going father than the last. Cuphead would sometimes accompany him but, he would always say "Hey whats that, ima go take a look, don't worry." He would disappear soon after so Mugman rarely asked to go with him on his adventures. But each time he went out he would race the sun, the forest could be a terrifying place at night. Then something happened, on one of his trips he heard a flute echo softly in the woods. He had noticed that the trees had more of a glow, the flowers looked much fresher and fully bloomed in this part of the forest, he heard the soft sounds of water falling as he neared the source of the melodic flute. He kept walking, being careful not to step on any flowers. As he got closer he could see a fairly tall young lady swaying slightly as she played the flute. He couldn't take his eyes off her, with her long (H/c) to red hair, the flowing long green to light purple dress. His jaw dropped her she turned slightly, showing her blue fairy wings off. He hadn't believed these mythical creatures really existed and when she turned she showed off the shining silver flute she played. A little blue bird sat on the flute's end as she played. Her wings flapped slightly, lifting her off the lush green grass below her. He was awestruck, she...she was so beautiful. He stepped on something because a large snap was heard, you let out a soft gasp and flipped yourself around to where to you could see him. Your shining (e/c) met his soft black eyes. "h...hi." You dropped the flute as you zipped away from the little clearing. He walked forward, grabbing your flute and holding it as he held a porcelain doll. His eyes were locked on the flute, he looked up and around. Trying to see if you had truly left, yep you were gone. He only realized how far the sun had already set. He scrambled to his feet and raced through the darkening forest. Growls echoed in his ears, the forest had already turned into a pitch black maze. He ran straight into one of the creatures that hid within the forest at night. It foamed at the mouth, its eyes a piercing red-orange. It turned to Mugman, growling as its skin boiled, well at least looked like it. He screamed as he stumbled away from the monster. He raced back to where he originally saw you, but it seemed that it disappeared. That's when he realized he had just backed himself into a corner. He turned around, facing the boiling creature he had tried to run from, he backed into the stone wall. The creature jumped was it never reached its destination. You had tackled the large boiling beast, rolling to the ground with it. Your fairy wings created a glow as you wrestled with the beast before you had managed to turn it into dust before a melted black puddle. You stood, your wings creating a blue glow as they fluttered. "Are you okay?" You both asked in unison, sharing an awkward laugh you sighed, "Are you okay? Did that beast harm you?" "No it didn't, but you-you just wrestled that thing." He said as he walked forward, you fluttered back, "I believe you have my flute." You said pointing to the silver end sticking out of his bag. He gasped and pulled it out, "You dropped it and left so I wanted to give it to you but the sun had begun setting and so I had to try and make it home when that thing began chasing me and well.." he rambled, you tried to hold your laughter in, "That's because you ran the wrong way," His face dropped, "You ran into the abandoned forest, you should have noticed because of the mud." With that, he looked down as saw his shoes had been covered in mud. Now he felt like an idiot, "I guess.." "Awe..don't worry." You said you grabbed his hand pulling him along as you flew backward, fast enough so he could follow the scenery rush by. His face instantly turned into a smile as he began laughing. Within mere minutes they were at the tree line, "But-how?" He asked, you only chuckled. "Well-" "HEY GET AWAY FROM HIM!" You whipped around to the sudden shout, a small boy similar to this mug ran towards you. You quickly disappeared into the forest, your wings left a slight blue trail before disappearing. "Cuphead! What the Heck!" Mugman shouted, before getting tackled into a hug from Cuphead, "What the heck? YOU STAYED IN THE FOREST ALL NIGHT!" He yelled. Before the could begin argument could worsen a melodic flute echoed in the forest, it was enchanting. Cuphead and Mugman looked up into the forest, Mugman slipped from Cuphead's grasp and ran into the forest leaving his brother entranced. He managed to ran back to the spot where he found you first. Out of breath, he leaned on the tree watching you dance slightly as you played, but you stopped and turned around. "I guess we should properly introduce ourselves? My name is (Y/n), your's?" Mugman just blinked before realizing, "Oh Mugman." So you two began talking about anything before the sun began setting, you pointed him in the right direction before watching him leave, picking your flute up you began playing the charming flute that echoed in the forest, but you could not get that mug off of your mind.
