Epilogue
"I present your graduating class of 2015!"
I threw up my hat and immediately searched the stands for Mom, Dad, Madelyn, and Savannah. Arms wrapped around my waist and lifted me in the air. I laughed.
"We graduated!" exclaimed Evan.
"So we did." I looked around and saw Brianna making her way over to us, along with Scotty and Erika. We made a group hug out of it and talked for a few seconds before Evan and I excused ourselves to go over to our families.
"I'm so proud of you!" Mom said, giving me a hug. I wasn't completely okay with her, but had gotten over it enough to fix the relationship.
"Thanks!" I gave my sister and nearly-sister-in-law a hug before throwing my arms around Dad.
My life seemed perfect. I had finished high school, was in love, close with God and my family, and I was going to college soon.
Evan had the same thoughts, and expressed them to me, although concerns were voiced along with them. That night after our party, he seemed extremely troubled.
"Evan," I said, lacing our fingers together, "there's no need to worry. 'Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?' " He grinned at me, but it was fake. "I know it's new and uncharted for you, but also for us. And do you see me or Savannah worrying? Trust God; He's never done us wrong before, I don't think He'll start now."
