Rudy's P.O.V.

"Rudy?" a voice said that sounds a lot like my Liesel.

"Saumensch? Liesel?" I said weakly. The pain hurts terribly. The only thing I remember is when I went to my bed, dreaming of Liesel.

I think I'm lying on the ground because it adds to the pain I am feeling right now.

"Shhh," Liesel says, water falling down from her beautiful eyes. Her hair is filled with dust and dirt. Oh if we were in a different situation would she try to clean herself. But we are not. We are here.

"I need to tell you..."

"Don't speak."

"I need to say it." I pause, coughing lightly. "I...." I stop, trying to get the air back into my lungs, hoping shutting my eyes would help.

"Rudy?" Liesel asked worried.

"Rudy, no."

"Rudy, wake up."

"Rudy, no!"

"Wake up, Rudy!"

"Rudy, wake up!"

She stops talking for a second that I thought I was dead. That is of course, until she spoke.

"Rudy, kiss me." And that is when her soft lips touched my cracked ones. Her lips gave mine moisture, softening them up.

"Liesel," I mumbled against her mouth. She pulls back suddenly, breaking the energy between us.

"Rudy?" she said, a disbelieved smile playing on her lips. "I finally got my prize." I grin.

"Oh Rudy!" she throws her arms around me, causing pain to shoot through my body. But I don't mind, because now I know she's mine.

"He's alive!" she shouts straight ahead, possibly at the air. I've been proven wrong when a group of German soldiers pick me up in their strong arms and place me on a stretcher of some sort. Liesel comes along with me and we drive away in a military truck.
