The Story of the Secret Wings

Chapter three- Training

This life is all I've know, I thought looking through the window of the Shinra transportation vehicle. Missions,training,experiments nothing more nothing less. My name is Leo I was 'given' to Shinra's head scientist Professor Hojo a little after when I was a born. He performed several experiments on me when I was growing:growth hormones,chemicals to increase my bone density,eyesight and several other things. 

I don't know my exact age but people tell me it's around sixteen,seventeen,eighteen,something like that. 

I'm currently a SOLIDER first class an unknown hero you could say! I'm charged with going on suicide missions against almost insurmountable odds..

The vehicle stops in front of the Shinra's main building,the doors opening as I stood and walked out of the transport vehicle sheilding my Mako green eyes from the bright sun closing the doors behind me the transport vehicle reved it's motor and then began to drive off. Walking into the building a couple of the guards protecting the building saluted him as I passed,I hate this part of being a SOLIDER the respect that they show that they don't really have is stupid..

Going over to the elevator I pulled out my keycard and put through the slot and tapped a couple numbers on the console,the glass doors opened then stepping inside. Then on the console inside I pressed a couple numbers the floor level for the SOLIDER briefing room. After a couple minutes of riding in the elevator I finally arrive at the floor the doors opened and I stepped out and greeting me was the director of the SOLIDER program. Standing at attention I saluted him

"Sir, SOLIDER first class Leo reporting in sir!" the director saluted back and I lowered my hand and relaxed,a little. "How did the mission go Leo?" Then I started to give my debriefing...

"Very good Leo, now for your next assignment you'll be training with some of the second class SOLIDERs." I sighed,training with the noobs was a pain in the ass they always used swords in the beginning,the main weapon of a SOLIDER then ended up using guns. Hopefully these noobs wouldn't be as pathetic as the others."Yes sir."I said with not much enthusiasm

"Good you'll head down to the training room in one hour that should give you enough time to get prepared right?" I nodded I didn't need any time to prepare but I think the Trainees definetly need time to prepare.,"Yes sir." "Good, I'll be watching this to see how things go, Dismissed Leo." I nodded and walked to the door and exited the room going to the lounge area to sit for an hour I was exhausted from my last mission..

In the training room, I strapped two standard issue SOLIDER sword to my back and grabbed a fire materia, a small red orb that allowed anyone to use magic regardless of their ability. Looking through the one-way window I saw four people gearing up. Each of them equipped themselves with materia,swords,and a one of them grabbed a couple firearms. I couldn't help but grin at that then I walked to the door and over the intercom came a female voice."Begin training in 3,2,1 begin." The door opened up and I ran through it into a reproduction of the Midgar commons.

It was night in the reproduction the full moon shining overhead. I ran across the roof tops jumping from one to another until he  came to a clearing where he jumped down onto  the ground and walked into the middle of it.

I waited for about five to ten minutes before they surrounded me. then I drew my two swords and spoke,"I know you're there come out." just as those words left my mouth three trainees ran at me their swords draw  and ready for a fight.

One of them reached me before the others and he stabbed with his sword toward my stomach. I spun to the side and swung my left sword toward his back. One of the other Trainee's sword got between my sword and the number one's back,then trainee three swung his sword straight down on my head but I swung my other sword to block three's strike. One getting back into the game stabbed his sword again toward my side I jumped backward avoiding One's strike.

Then as the three of them turned my way I activated a wind materia that blew all three of them down. Then as I advanced on the pile of people a shot rang out my left arm went numb as i dropped my sword. Thinking back I remembered that one of the Trainees picked up a gun.

I looked down at my arm, it wasn't bleeding but the training round paralyzed my arm. I quickly jumped to my right and turned just as another shot rang out accidently striking number two in the leg. I looked around then saw the shooter ontop of the roof that I jumped off of minutes earlier.

Running toward number four I could hear the other three starting to chase after me while number four continued to shoot at me. Then I saw my shadow grow on the ground then I jumped and a I did a fireball shot passed me and blew up against the side of the building where the shooter was.

As soon as I landed I stood one, two steps forward then jumped up and onto the building where number four was as I turned he shot at me again. This time I was able to deflect it and the paralayse round hit one of the others on the ground who collapsed with a yell. I was on the shooter in seconds grasping the gun then twisting it to the point where he let go of it and I threw it at number One. Where the force from the throw knocked him down and the earlier bullet that I deflected hit number two in the chest his body completely still,from full body paralayse. Turning back to number four he threw a punch toward my jaw. 

Dodging to the side I wrapped my arm around his helmet and held on tightly blocking his view in the process. Number three finally made it to the roof where he stood there his sword held out infront of himself.

I felt movement from four and looked down to see that he had unfastened his helmet and crouched to the ground attempting to kick my feet out from under me, I jumped back my feet on the edge of the building then four stood up.

Number four was a girl.

She stood and looked at me then spoke,"Ya gonna stand there all night cupcake?"

I shook my head and charged at her and brought my sword down toward her head,she twirled out of the way of my sword like a ballerina then brought her sword down on top of mine,"There ya go!" she said.

I spun and aimed a roundhouse kick to her sword arm hoping to disarm her but she had speed and moved out of the way of my kick and brought another gun out and aimed it at my chest then I fellbackwards almost as if I slipped on a bannana peel and two shots flew past me face.

Using my good hand I was able to do a hand stand then land back on my feet where I fired a Fire spell and the girl ducked quickly but not uickly enough since it crisped her hair slightly.

This girl is good.

Obivously mad now she ran at me and threw a punch toward my face where I then tilted my head to the side and caught it in my own hand,"Not bad at all.."

She grinned and in a cocky tone said,"Of course!" she  then brought her other hand toward my gut when he fist made contact it didn't hurt at all but it hurt her hand and before she could do anything I swept my foot under her legs causing her to fall on her butt,"Oww!" she whined,"That hurt!"

I put my hand on her head and grinned,"Looks like I win."

Then in a peak of fear she rose up and thrusted her hands under my chin, knocking me backwards where I then rolled back wards and onto my feet then asked,"Who are you,girl?"

She smiled then held out a hand toward him,"My name's Leto SOLIDER first class!"

I looked at her suspicously thinking,'her? first class?' Then I stook my hand toard hers and shook it,"I'm Leo,Solider first class."

"So how did I do?" she asked enthusiastically then I replied,"Not bad. certainly a lot better than the other trainees." I then gestured toward the other three trainees that were groaning and complaining about how it wasn't fair.

The image of Midgar started to fade away turning the room back into a dull grey room.

"235,get to the lab now." came a sort of high pitched voice over the communicator that was in my left ear I sighed looks like more augmentations for me.."

I smiled toward Leto once more,"Well it was nice to meet you Leto, I'll see you later."

She nodded back and went over to the other trainees to help them up,and I made my way towards the lab and towards my father....Hojo.
