-This is about the Dan and Phil being super adorable and dancing on their anniversary during the song Hungry Heart by Bruce Springsteen. I seriously recommend listening to the song first because the lyrics seem sad and depressing but ITS SOUND AMAZING FOR 'THEIR SONG'. I love this story, its just fluff, and cuteness. 1244 words
-Poem is 'To My Dear and Loving Husband' by Anne Bradstreet (I changed the words 'wife' to 'husband' because duh
It was Dan and I's anniversary today and to celebrate, we decided to go with something small. Therefore a couple minutes ago we arrived back home to our shared flat with store bags filled to the brim with cake mix, icing, and sprinkles. Not to mention a few bottles of alcohol and some new lube flavors we were meaning to try.
Dan grabbed his computer from his browsing position dent in the lounge's couch, and set it on top the counter. He began starting it up fairly fast and visibly excited, I wondered what he was up to. Suddenly music blared through the apartment which caused my clumsiness to triple in threat as I dropped almost all the groceries. He paused it, restarted it, adjusted the volume, then pressed play.
My ears we greeted by a drum roll and a hearty saxophone. I stood there looking at him smiling, in which he smirked back. He knew Hungry Heart by Bruce Springsteen was our song. The upbeat tempo of the song made Dan drop his shoulders playfully each time the beat hit as he slowly skipped towards me, then grabbed my waist with one hand.
"I love you," was all that I could say, and not in a cheesy way because whenever we mutter those three words to each other, we know that we will always have our souls intertwined, and how it will never lose its meaning. In reply, Dan Eskimo kissed my forehead, and since bearing one more inch taller than me he did it with ease, he then planted a soft kiss. That kiss seeped into my veins and was delivered straight to my heart. Dan let go as soon as the first stanza started.
Got a wife and kids in Baltimore, Jack
I went out for a ride and I never went back
Like a river that don't know where it's flowing
I took a wrong turn and I just kept goingIn the duration of this chorus, we danced around each other while getting out bowls, measuring cups, spoons, eggs, and pans. The box of chocolate cake mix brought a stench of fresh cardboard to my nose, I breathed in and was then delivered the sweet smell of dark rich powder when Dan ripped the plastic packaging underneath.
When the chocolate powder dominated the bowl, I told Dan, "it smells like the color of your eyes,"
He chuckled, "If this is what my eyes smell like then... yours smell like a perfect sunny day, and there's not a cloud in the sky no matter what. I can feel the wind rustling, the sun on my skin, and the grass below me."
We looked into each other's eyes, imagining our fantasies when the next set of chorus came on.
Everybody's got a hungry heart
Everybody's got a hungry heart
Lay down your money and you play your part
Everybody's got a hungry heartDan took my fingertips lightly and used them to turn my body 360, then straightened them both out to then pull me closer to him. He wrapped his bear-like arms around my chest and squeezed hard, then to my surprise picked me up and spun us around and around again. I kept laughing and smiling not able to control myself. In return for the amazing feeling Dan gave me, I took him by the shoulders and hugged him tight with my face buried in his neck. I kissed his neck knowing how sensitive it was, and only how I was allowed to touch it. It made him shudder in pleasure and grin at me before giving me a kiss.
Since I was the dominant one I wanted to one-up him. I grabbed him by the hips and made him basically sit on my crotch, and wrapped his legs around me and used his thighs as hand holders.
"Phil!" Dan said in his adorable voice that made me feel like a lovestruck 18-year-old.
In reply I paced along our kitchen, dipping him to make him think he's falling. But he never flinches, he trusts me. We looked into each other's eyes because this was the climax of the song.
I met her in a Kingstown bar
I put Dan down and sang the words, shimming the top half of my body up and down, he joined along looking straight into my eyes with his damn adorable smile.
We fell in love I knew it had to end
I took Dan's right hand into mine and held it above our heads, I used my other hand to place his other on my waist and then finally placing mine on his left shoulder. Ballroom style.
We took what we had and we ripped it apart
I guided us through the kitchen, his feet soon matching up in sync with mine. We danced like how they do it in the movies, something along the lines of a foxtrot - box step mashup.
"I feel like Cinderella dancing with my Prince Charming." I whisped out, breathing deeply out into him.
"That's so cheesy, but I love it. But for me as Prince Charming? I think I'm way more Cinderella than you." Dan replied gliding us into a twirl and gave my shoulder and hand a squeeze.
"Are you seriously fighting over which one of us is Cinderella?" I said softly with a chuckle making us dance to the other side.
"In that case, never mind. I would definitely try to find you after that night of dancing, send out all the guards, the entire kingdom to find my princess." he gave me an Eskimo kiss.
Now here I am down in Kingstown again
With the last line of the chorus sounding out, I guiding us into two more twirls and then pulled him tight, "Everybodys got a Hungry Heart," I sang.
Dan hummed the keyboard sound right on time with the music.
"Everybody's got a Hungry Heart," I harmonized with the song. Dan reached over and grabbed my ass which made me feel a little turned on, but more importantly happy and loved. In return, I used both my hands to grab each of Dan's ass cheeks, which made his face blush.
"I'm pretty sure they wouldn't condone these actions at a Kings Ball," Dan said I softly in my ear.
"Good thing where in the kitchen then," I replied.
As the rest of the song played out, we hummed our favorite bits to each other and sang the lyrics softly. Our bodies were pressed against each other with my arms wrapped around his chest and neck, his were loosely holding my forearms comfortably. Our foreheads were touching unless one of us went to peck each other's lips or nose.
At the end of the song, a poem played in Dans voice;
If ever two were one, then surely we.
If ever man were loved by husband, then thee.
If ever husband was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye men, if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold,
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee give recompense.
Thy love is such I can no way repay;
The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray.
Then while we live, in love let's so persever,
That when we live no more, we may live ever.
"Happy Aniversary Phil," Dan said looking at me with such meaning.
"Happy Aniversary Danny, your the best boyfriend in the entire world," I replied, my eyes watering, with a loss for words.
