Then next thing, is to substitute the values of a, b, and c into the quadratic formula, them distribute every term next to the parenthesis into every term inside the parenthesis, and do every exponent terms as well. After you have done that, combine the like terms of the numbers the numbers inside the radical (if there is ever any negative in the radical, there will automatically be NO solution.) Then, create two separate equations as x=__+__ =__ divide by a number and __-__=__ divided by two. Simplify one equation at a time by solving it then, solving the next one. The x=__ will be your solution. If that number is substituted then it will (Should) make the equation true.
