Odd Friends From Odd Places

*~Chapter 1~*

(Mach's POV)

I woke up with a blaring noise in my ears, it seems my alarm clock started to ring. I sighed and hit the snooze button, I am not excited about today. Basically, my family is moving to America because my father got a job there, don't know why, don't know how, and I don't care. The only thing exciting about moving to America is nothing. Then, I heard my phone ring, it was a notification. I opened it up and smiled, It was one of my online friends. Her name is Asuna, she always made me smile when I'm sad like this. I texted her about my situation, she seemed really happy for some reason and I don't know why.

My Alarm blared at me again, I groaned and turned it off. I look back at my phone and Asuna was calling me. I answered smiling, "Hello Asuna!" I said, trying not to wake up my parents yet. I love hearing her voice, it always made me smile.

"Hello Kat, I heard you're moving to America! Which part of America though?" She asked, sounding genuinely intrigued. I giggled a bit, it also sounded like an interrogation.

"Alright, First, I just told you I was moving to America, and I honestly don't know. My parents haven't told me anything yet. All I know is that we're moving away from the home I know." I said back to her, getting a bit sad. 

"Aw! Don't be sad, there's a chance we can meet! I've always wanted to see you." Asuna said to me, I can tell by the tone of her voice that she is really hoping that I'll land in Florida. Even if I did fly there, I don't know what she looks like, so that plan is toast.

"Yeah, well you know that my parents aren't as chill as yours. I wouldn't be able to meet you if I tried, Asuna. Also, we don't know what each other look like. Sorry A, we just can't" I say, starting to hear my parent's alarm. I sigh a bit, I can tell I broke Asuna's spirits by the way she sighed too.

"Well I still have hope!" She finally says, breaking the ice between us. "Also, is 'A' my new nickname? If so, I really like it." she finishes. I nod, but then I realize that she can't see me so I decide to respond verbally.

"Yes also-" I begin, My parents start to get up, I sigh once again. "Sorry A, I got to go. Bye." I quickly say and hang up. My parents would kill me if they found out I was talking to someone I barely knew. They don't trust me, even though I didn't even tell Asuna my real name and she doesn't know what I look like. I quickly pack up the rest of my things and drag them downstairs. This plane ride is already making me feel sick, I hope we won't be on there long. I am deathly scared of planes and heights.

(Asuna's POV)

As soon as she hung up I frowned a bit, I was really hoping to ask her more questions. Anyway, it was almost time for school so I got up and ran down the stairs of my home. My big brother, Ichiro, any my little brother, Akio were waiting for me. Akio was starting his first year of high school today, or really any school. My parents were concerned that he wouldn't do well with other human beings because he had no social skills. Ichiro and I were already in high school, Ichiro being a 3rd year and me being a 2nd year. 

"There you are Asuna! You shouldn't keep your siblings waiting for so long." My father said to me and gesturing to my siblings on the couch, playing their games. They always play games or read a book when they're board or waiting on someone.

"I'm sorry father, but I was talking with my friend, Kat." I said smiling, whenever I said her name it was like my father would give me a glare but, instead he just smiled a bit and nodded in an understanding way.

"That's okay Asuna, just don't make your brothers wait for so long. You can talk and walk you know." He said joking, signaling my brothers to get off their games and walk to school. I laughed a bit and walked to the door, Akio was already jumping around excited for his first day of school. As we walked out of our house my father quickly added, "Akio! Calm down!" but it was too late, Akio was running. Ichiro chased after him, yelling out his name to stop running. I just walked, I didn't feel like running today. Then I heard my name from behind me, I completely forgot that I promised to walk to school with Holly today.

"Asuna! Wait up!" Holly yelled out, waving her arms whilst running towards me. I giggled a bit and came to a stop so she could catch up to me. "I can't believe you forgot me Asuna! You promised to wait for me!" She said, scolding me.

"Sorry Holly, I was distracted from my brothers running towards the school like maniacs." I said and we both giggled a bit. Holly was my first friend here, I met her when we were assigned partners for a project. We bonded over politics and eventually forgot about the project entirely. 

"That is no excuse Ms. Rio!" She said and grabbed my arm so that we could also walk with Jacob to school. "I'm not letting you forget Jacob as well." she said smiling a bit. I chuckled and looked at the door. I heard Jacob's voice and he came out running as his older brother ran to the door. Holly screamed, for some reason she is terrified of Jacob's big brother and not mine, then ran after Jacob. I instinctively followed. This day was going to be a crazy day for sure.

I've been working really hard on my other stories but, I couldn't think of anything other then this plot. I promise to update Underclan soon but, for now, I will update this whenever.
