Chapter three: Near

BAM! we heard. We all looked at the front door. "I know someone's in there"
Fuck.

Ava's pov:
We all started to go out the back door hearing more bams. I whispered as quiet as I can.
"guys we need to go to Katelyns house. But we need to go somewhere else so they don't follow us. But think quickly." "Umm... A store?" Marcello whispered. Katelyn whispered "yea that sounds good." We tiptoed quietly like were not waking up a bear. SNAP! I looked at Marcello. His foot was on a twig. "MARCELLO!" I whispered yelled. Which I shouldn't of did. We saw darks face looking dead sat us with a smile on his face. "There you are my children. Now. Come home with me where its safe." A moment later we started running. I felt a tug on my arm. "LET ME GO YOU FREAK!" I screamed. "No. You belong with m-" I flash of skin went to his face. It was javier. Darks grip loosened and we both started running. "AGH!" We heard dark cry in pain. I started laughing. "Idiot." "Exactly" then he started laughing.

We all saw a food store and went inside. (Why are we going in food stores so much?) We saw people outside. Their bodies looked like they were pale. Pale like dust.
"Maybe we should start eating." From jaivers voice. "Yea I'm starving like I hadn't ate like in months." Katelyn said.
I snickered so loud.
We all sat down on the floor I pulled some food out of my backpack. "Fruit snacks, protein bars, bread and cheese,-" "I'll take the bread and cheese!" Javier bursted out.  I handed him a slice of bread and cheese. "I'll take the fruit snacks!" Marcello said moments later. I handed him the fruit snacks. I looked in my backpack for more food and found some candy. "Katelyn you can have this" I showed my hand full if candy. "Hell yea!" She snatched the candy out of my hand. For me I pulled out a small bag of trail mix and set the bag down in the middle of were we we're sitting. I ate a protein bar and ate the trail mix. I remembered I save some meat for ash. I saw him come up to us and I gave him meat from my sandwich.

We all ate the food and started looking around the store for more things that we needed. We meet to the front of the store and me, javier, and Marcello looked at katelyn with a... Crow bar. "How the hell?" Marcello exclaimed I started giggling at his reaction. "Oh yea and I found two baseball bats" katelyn showed her other hand with the two baseball bats. She handed one to javier and Marcello. "Sweet" javier smiled.
"We should go cause its getting night."
I said concerned. I looked at the window with a little light outside. It looks like the sun is hidden behind the grey sky. We all went outside and went on our way to Katelyns house. We all did jokes on the way to Katelyns house and made eachother laugh like we were gonna die. Literally we were laughing. As we got there the sun settled and it was night.

"And here we are." Katelyn said relieved.
It was a little messy house with two piles of papers. (Could've been bills) and a few dishes but it was fine. Katelyn went to another room and came back with blankets. We all set the blankets down on the carpet floor where the living room is. After all that we changed into our pajamas. "Sleepover!" Katelyn girly yelled. "Oh god" Marcello said in a funny voice. "Shut up I need to sleep" javier said.
"Alright alright, we should sleep though."
Me, javier and Marcello slept on the floor and katelyn layed down on the couch watching t.v. all three of us went to sleep.
