Flac-flac-flac closed in from the horizon approaching the settlement of where survivors granted shelter in, walls encompassing from the asperous domain. Fenrir; an organisation that pledged "Protection for humankind and resurgence in science-technology", was human's stand to prove their worth for survival on dying Earth. Years after year with death tolls upon the human civilisation, new generations of evolved mankind begun to hack through to their faraway future. Of a world without devouring, without Aragami.

As the chopper docked upon the imposing structure of Fenrir, the raven-haired instructor reminded his two newly-recruited novices. "Next, you two will be taught by the first unit captain. He'll show how to fight right at home here." Lindow cracked a soft smile and eyes shone with reminiscence within those jade orbs, tone lowered, "He has grown after being a rookie like you two." His usual orotund voice deadened left unheard the other two even as the blades of the aircraft coming to a halt.

"Corporal, sir?"

"Oh and drop that formalities, Evie," Lindow awkwardly massaged his scruff, disgruntled by the overly-polite way of addressing him. "Lindow is fine, you kiddos. I'm still light on my feet," whimsical voice proclaimed as he turned away towards the entrance, holding up his golden gauntlet arm to coerce away any other disagreement from the female novice.

Sighed, she murmured of how disrespectful of two new recruits to be greeting a superior such as Lindow in a laid-back manner. As far as Evelyn had heard, Corporal Lindow Amamiya was one of the highly-respected God Eater in both guiding the recruits and as well as successfully defeating large Aragami in solo missions. Boasting the survival rate of his units up to 90%, one of the highest among the captains to date.

"He said that, didn't he?" Aiden nudged her to go along the raven-head's decision; prodding a defeated smile when she finally became compliant. Heart swelled with an essence of contentment, for his words still managed to influence her superficial perdurable stubbornness mask. Nodded towards the metal entrance towards the facility, both novice took one step after another towards their chosen path, their future and their haven.

As they passed through the gates, sounds reached their ears; the whirring clamors of metal against metal, the bleeping sound akin to heartbeats and adenoidal voice appraised to every data surged down the monitor. The scene was still aberrant in the eyes of the rookies as numerous God Arcs laid still encased in iron machine, wires plugged into the heart of the various shapes of weapons. Evelyn and Aiden rested their blades into their respective casings for repair and maintenance.

Beyond the machinists' work site was a far more warmer place, the arduous palate still lingered in the air but it was welcoming. The clatter of the keyboard, the pings of alert noises, the amiable voices ringing within the metallic sanctuary and the flighty footsteps of other god eaters. The sites were a contrast between the two, but more than ever it had larger distinction between from where they hailed from.

Scrutinising each details and air of the headquarter, the female rookie sewn everything into memory. Every nooks and cranny, small spaces to hide, the blank spot--

"I know what you're thinking, Eve".

She caught off-guard, breath stuck for a second before it resumed normally. Evelyn's hazel eyes casted away from her partner, fearing of opening her up like a book. It was not due to charms or manipulation but because of familiarity. Those times they had spent together matured to bonds akin to siblings in the eyes of many.

"I am going to be here for you, like always," feather-liked touches patted her head, an assuring gesture that calmed her mistrusting heart. She nodded and when Evelyn met his azure orbs, the confidence brewing in his pairs sealed away all of her fear from surfacing. She was saved. By this young man- who was as sincere since the first time they known each other. The tiniest smile cracked upon her pink mist lips, a rare treat even for Aiden nowadays. He could only returned a soft smile while petting the fluffy onyx hair.

"Aww~ That is just adorable and precious," a new voice cooed towards them, too loud for their comfort however. Simply, the two rookies had their attention to the unkempt orange-haired yellow bandanna-wearer person who seemed to be around his 20s. Although the amiable air, the jacket he was wearing had similarities as to the corporal. "I'm Kota Fujiki, Captain of the First Unit. Nice to finally meeting you two", he grinned.

Evelyn straightened up and delivered her salute, Aiden on the other hand curtly bowed towards their superior. Cordial laughter reverberated across the front hall, an awkwardness tone interwove between each chuckle of the captain's. "You don't have to be so stiff. Currently, I am a captain but I was a god eater first". The lightness in his tone never-fading, the perpetually spring breeze. Much to Aiden's chagrin, even his crisped childhood friend began to lower her walls.

"So Captain, what kind of training should we do first?"

He grinned, the impish smirk of the First Unit Captain created ripples in the hearts of the rookies. From words of mouths, the first unit usually had the role of salvaging aragami cores. Generally, their main objectives were the medium and large-scale aragami thence their training would be severely harsh.

"Shall we go and begin now?"

"Shall we go and begin now?"
