Mabel and Dipper have returned to Gravity Falls a year later. Bill has been resurrected by Dipper on accident. And being resurrected by human hands has turned him into human also. The only thing Bill can do is make objects, deals, his blue fire with his bare hands, and teleport. After months of trying to convince the Pines that he can be trusted, having arguments between Ford, Dipper, and Stanley, he finally got them to see that he has no desire to take over the world again. Even if he wanted to he wasn't physically capable. He was stuck being a human. Forever. Of course they thought he was lying and tricking them at first, but they saw what he thought of them, by reading his own personal journal, they thought they could trust him. But Ford said he'd keep an eye on him. Just to be safe.
Dipper finally had another guy to hang out with. But time with his sister has decreased. Mabel still had Candy and Grenda. She wasn't completely alone. But she missed him. They were so close until he accidentally resurrected Bill. It was like losing a best friend.
Dipper still didn't know if he could trust Bill enough to be his friend. He needed more proof than a journal. But he wasn't a total jerk to him.
They were outside talking with a normal conversation until Bill said something.
Bill: "I never thought this would happen."
Dipper: "What?"
Bill: "My enemies becoming my friends."
Dipper: "..."
Bill: "I didn't think it was possible. I thought once I made an enemy it would be like that forever. I thought I'd never be forgiven."
Dipper: "But you asked. Even then, you tried to be forgiven. You tried to be forgiven thinking you wouldn't be. That's guts if you ask me. Especially for the people you almost killed."
Bill: "...But I'm glad. To be friends with you. All of you. I see now that I was blind. Blind enough to not see what the world had to offer. It may have some darkness. But with that darkness comes light. One wouldn't exist without the other. And the brightest light I see...is here. You guys helped me see that and don't even know it. I thank you. For being there. You didn't have to talk to me. I could have just watched you from a distance and saw it. But thank you."
Bill hugs Dipper. Dipper wanted to pull back, but then he heard him crying. "Is he truly sorry?" Dipper asked himself. Bill buried his face into Dipper's shoulder. Dipper, still in shock, hugged him back. "He's sorry," Dipper said to himself. He wanted to cry, too, but tears wouldn't come. Bill let go and smiled at Dipper. Bill's smile was so innocent. And his eyes were so full of thanks. Dipper smiled back. Then Bill turned and walked into the shack.

Mabel was sitting on her bed playing with Waddles when Dipper walked in.
Dipper: "Mabel? Do you trust Bill?"
Mabel: "Do you?"
Dipper: "Well, he said we helped him see the light. And he cried on my shoulder. If he is really sorry and he's telling the truth, I'd feel like a total jerk if I didn't believe him."
Mabel: "But we need more proof than reading his journal. You said that yourself. We still don't know what he does on his own time."
Dipper: "I know."
Mabel: "That's why Gruncle Ford is keeping an eye on him."
Dipper: "I know. I just want to believe it so bad. It's almost too good to be true."
Mabel: "I see what you mean. But maybe we will see that he's a good guy now. Maybe not. But I think you are the closest thing to him. I don't know if it's because he possessed you once or if it's just because you're the only guy his age."
Dipper: "He was a demon, Mabel. He's probably more than a trillion years old."
Mabel: "Right. Well I meant his human body."
Ford walked in.
Ford: "Hey, kids."
Dipper: "Hey, Great-Uncle Ford."
Mabel: "What's up?"
Ford: "It's about Bill."
They shared looks.
Dipper: "What did he do?"
Ford: "Well, nothing at first. Then I caught him crying. I didn't want to stand there and watch him cry, so I went up to him and asked if he was okay. He said he was. It was tears of joy. I asked him what he was so happy about. He told me that he finally got someone to believe that he's not a threat. I asked him who and he said you, Dipper. But then he told me something that I don't think I'll ever forget."
Flashback Bill: "You guys made me understand love. It's more beautiful than anything I've ever tasted. But if I could just get all of you to see me now I don't think I would have any more life goals. All of you helped me and you don't even know. Ford?"
Ford was shocked when he heard his real name come out of Bill's mouth.
"How can I prove to you that I'm no longer your enemy?"
End of Flashback.
Ford: "There was something in his eyes. It was almost begging. I never seen him act like that. He's not the Bill we knew. I think it had something to do with you resurrecting him, Dipper. But there is only one way to resurrect a demon and change their way of thinking. Dipper? What did you feel when you resurrected him? When you grabbed his hand? What was your current emotion?"
Dipper: "Umm...desire?"
Ford: "For what?"
Dipper: "More adventure. But I wished something, too."
Ford: "What did you wish?"
Dipper: "I don't mind telling you because I think it has already come true. I wished...Bill wasn't the bad guy. And he would have feelings like us. Like a human."
Ford: "Well, now we know the truth. Bill...is not our enemy. He is our friend."
Dipper: "Wait. So you're saying that I changed him?"
Ford: "Yes. And you did it perfectly. And the shock is that you did it without even knowing."
Mabel: "So...is he part of the family, now?"
Ford: "...you could say that. None of us have gotten that close to him yet. Except Dipper. He's yours to deal with right now, Dipper. He relies on you more than anyone. He trusts you with his feelings. You're like a best friend to him. I'd go talk to him if I were you."
