We're Here

It was night. Dipper saw Bill sitting on the roof and went to him. He sat next to him.
Bill: "You mind if I call you Pinetree?"
Dipper: "Yes."
Bill: "Okay. Pinetree? Do you trust me?"
Dipper: "...yeah."
Bill: "Then...do you know what I'm thinking?"
Dipper: "How could I? I'm not you."
Bill: "I'm thinking...why can't I be better?"
Dipper: "What do you mean?"
Bill: "I mean...I want to be trusted and loyal to my friends like you. But you just now started trusting me."
Dipper: "I've always wanted to believe you. Because you being good was like a dream come true."
Bill: "Thank you, Dipper. You made me believe in something that I could never believe in my own."
Dipper smiled at him.
Dipper: "And that is?"
Bill looked at him with a tiny smile.
Bill: "Love."
Dipper was a little confused.
Dipper: "What do you mean by "love"?"
Bill: "I mean I care about everyone like they care about each other. And to think that I was a demon. I could love everyone. Have friends that's aren't from the nightmare realm. I never knew it would be a good feeling. Me and you are like brothers. Like Stan and Sixer. Mabel and I could be like best friends. I'm so grateful."
Dipper: "You're welcome. Well, goodnight, Bill."
Bill: "Goodnight, Dipper."

It has been another month. Bill and Dipper are really good friends. Better than everyone else. Everyone there is Bill's friend and they treat him as such. Dipper was the better one. He was always there. Never leaving his side. When Bill got hurt or something he would always call for Dipper. Sometimes Dipper would be there faster than he could say his name. They were like brothers. Dipper felt like he finally had one.
They were sitting on Dipper's bed talking and laughing while the moon shone through the window.
Dipper: "Hey, Bill?"
Bill: "Yeah?"
Dipper: "What would you do if I was in trouble? Like, if I was abducted and I was at gun-point and the only way to save me was for you to die, what would you do?"
Bill: "Happily give my life."
Dipper: "What?"
Bill: "You're my brother. I wouldn't be able to live on if you were taken from me. To save you, I'd do anything."
Dipper: "But...then you'd be taken from me."
Bill: "But I would've died for you."
Dipper: "No one has ever said they'd die for me."
Bill: "Well now they have."
Dipper: "..."
Bill: "Dipper."
Dipper gave a surprised look when Bill said his real name.
"I don't want to lose this. I don't want to fall back into my old ways. I want to become like you. Like all of you. You all have the biggest hearts I've ever seen. I feel so useless because I know that'll never happen. I'm far from that."
Dipper: "Bill. You're not useless. You have a purpose here. I know I brought you back by accident, but you aren't an accident. There's a reason why you're here, you just need to figure it out later on. And you won't go back to who you were before because we're here to guide you on our good path. You're not alone."
Bill: "It may never work. Maybe I'm just built this way."
Dipper: "No, Bill. Anyone can change. Even the worst of villains can become the kindest people you ever came across. Never lose that hope."
Bill: "I'll never have better friends."
Dipper: "Nope. Stick with us. Don't lose hope in us either. If someone bad comes along and tries to lead you away from us, stay strong. We believe in you and trust you."
Bill: "Heh. Strange. The least trustworthy person is being trusted."
Dipper: "And that's not it. You also need to believe in and trust yourself. That's even hard for me. But it gets you were you need to be. None of this is easy. But it will be easier once you have it and never let it go."
Bill smiles.
Bill: "Thank you."
They get ready to go to bed. Just as Bill was leaving to the roof to sleep he was stopped by Dipper.
Dipper: "Bill. I want you to know something."
Bill: "What is it?"
Dipper: "You are a part of our family. You're not sitting on the sidelines anymore. You're a Pines."
Bill began to cry. He hugged Dipper crying on his shoulder again.
Bill: "I'll never forget this. The greatest day of my life where the words I've been waiting to hear for so long were said. Thank you."
Dipper hugged back smiling.
Dipper: "You're welcome."
Bill left for the roof. Mabel walked up the steps and opened the door and walked past Bill. She looked at Dipper.
Mabel: "So how's it coming along?"
Dipper: "Good. Great actually. He's a member of our family, now. So things are gonna change. In a good way."
Mabel: "Glad to hear it. Well...goodnight, Dipper."
Dipper: "Goodnight, Mabel."
