Kaniss unfolded the map, it was larger than it looked. He explained how the pink spots were places to avoid and he would take a marker and mark places that they should definitely stop at.
Harvard would occasionally ask questions about the different symbols scattered across the map,  it turns out Cagenia was about as advanced as Earth, small towns such as Glimos had coffee shops and even hotels and restaurants.
Kaniss eventually folded the map back up. "Alright we should go now. It's just now morning so we could make it to Henson by sundown." he turned but stole a glance back at the teens.
"Oh, you guys might need some warmer clothes I'll be right back." he said before returning upstairs. He returned once more with four various colored sweaters and gave one to each of the humans.
Xavier took the blue one, Nicole took the purple one, Jane took the green one and Harvard took the gray one.
Once they all made it out the door, Kaniss led them through a forest, pushing branches out of the way and shooing away small rodent-like creatures.
Xavier was fascinated by the uniqueness of the planet, the odd trees and grass, the beautiful flowers and also the diverse wildlife.
The blue clouds floated calmly through the sky, and the strange long necked birds seemed to call out mournful yet gracious songs to each other as the group trudged onward.
Once the bright red moon rose above them they had made it to a small town. Karags were walking in and out buildings and shops and some talked as they strolled down the streets.
It seemed to be icy and cold in that town, yet snow never came from the sky. Trees were naked and plants were frosted, but no snow. Not one flake.
Nicole looked at Kaniss, who seemed frustrated.
"What do we do now?" she asked.
Kaniss looked at the map once again before speaking, "We're going to see a friend of mine."

The teens and the Karag all entered a small dark house that was lit up with blue lights. Technological devices were all over the place and a Karag with half black and half white hair sped down the violet warped stairs with a smile.
"Hey Kaniss! I got the Screenwave you sent me, thank you so m-" the Karag turned his head to the humans.
"Oh, hello. Um, I guess we have some unexpected visitors to our humble planet." he let out a nervous chuckle.
Kaniss frowned, "We're just going to JeiJeóg, I'm just taking them to the portal and that's it." he stated calmly, raising a single brow.
The other Karag's red eyes lit up. "Oh, how wonderful!" he gestured for the to sit on the green couch, "My name is Glacie Pilepe by the way, what are your names?" his sharp smile was genuine and affectionate,  he wore a T-shirt that was bright blue and some khaki pants.
"Oh," Jane replied, "We never even told Kaniss our names," she shifter her gaze to the orange sweatered Karag.
"I'm Xavier," Xavier suddenly said, "That's Harvard," he gestured toward the redhead, "That's Nicole," to the blonde, "And she's Jane." to the brunette.
Glacie smiled again and pulled Kaniss to the side, "Can we talk for a bit, outside?" she chuckled and they both went out the door.
"What do you mean you're taking them to JeiJeóg?!" Glacie whispered in sudden anger, "You and I both know that humans spell trouble! You have the very audacity to bring four, not just one, but FOUR humans into my residencekeep?!"
Kaniss sighed, "Please Glacie, they're good people, and they're too young to survive on their own...need I remind you that you too were too young to survive on your own? And that the most probable reason you hate humans is because one of them, a human they don't even know or care to know about, killed your female caretaker? Maybe not all humans are bad, maybe you should let it go!" he hissed.
Glacie groaned in annoyance, "I will put on my most 'Hello, would you like some coffee?' face, alright?" he said with slight sarcasm.
Kaniss nodded lightly as they both returned indoors.
Harvard looked at the two karags, his fave saying 'I heard every word,' Kaniss let out a soft laugh as he spun around to face Glacie. "Do you want them to just sleep on the floor? I could get the spare blankets," Glacie nodded as Lanni hurried to the storage closet, returning with a few pillows and two large blankets.
"Just sleep on a palette on the floor, we can continue our travel in the morning."
Nicole and Cover spread one basket on the floor before placing the pillows and the second blanket.
They all fell asleep quickly, on the floor of an alien's house.
