The group embarked on their travel, Kaniss pointed occasionally at the buildings and explained what purpose they served, some gave off radio waves while others were just houses.
Harvard groaned loudly in boredom which caused Kaniss to turn and glare at him.
Kaniss then turned all the way around and stopped them.
"I'm sorry, but it's my time to leave you." he sounded hurt.
"Leave us? Man what the f--" Harvard was cut off by Xavier elbowing him in the side.
"I'm sorry, truly am, but this is as far as I can go, you need to find a golden mountain range, you'll find a residencekeep there. It's blue and has red windows, go there and you'll meet Soulus, he'll help you."
Kaniss handed the map to Nicole and shuffled away uncomfortably as he walked the opposite direction, his head seeming to twitch.

Harvard kicked a stone, "Now what do we do?! We're alone, not from here, and we could be killed! What kind of person leaves four kids alone to fend for themselves?!" he shouted loudly as he paced back and forth.
Jane and Nicole looked over the map, a small circle indicated the location of Soulus.
Xavier stepped under one of the vibrant trees and grabbed some of the cerulean berries they had eaten at Xyrfia's house.
Harvard was still ranting when Xavier returned, he sighed and popped a berry in his mouth before squishing the rest in Harvard's hair.
Harvard chased Xavier, who was laughing his head off, around the area. He then caught up to the nerd and then pushed him roughly, sending him face first into a tree.
Jane helped Xavier up, Xavier was laughing at his harmless prank. Nicole then folded the map once more.
"Come on we best hurry, it's just north of here." she said before beginning to lead them to the home of Soulus.
They all stopped at the large dark blue building, the triangular windows were a shocking shade of crimson and there was a welcome mat that read, 'Knock twice and smile' on the doorstep.
Harvard turned to scan the area, only seeing the occasional tree or bird-like creature, he let out a breathy sigh and took his sunglasses off.
Nicole looked at the ginger and grimaced before knocking on the smooth door.
Jane rose her eyebrows in faint worry as the door creaked open agonizingly slow.
A Karag in a blue scarf stood before them, his thick silver glasses framing his scarlet eyes.
He moved a hand through his almost completely black hair and waved them inside.
"Yes yes, I was sent a message," he began in a rather soft British-sounding voice, "about your arrival. Kaniss told me that you need to be at JeiJeóg so you can use the portal there, correct?" he turned and locked his gaze upon the teenagers.
They nodded, he clicked his tongue and sat in a thorny looking chair.
Xavier watched as the Karag typed rapidly on a computer, images flashing up and disappearing in the blink of an eye.
"Are you, Soulus?" he asked quietly over the Karag's shoulder.
The Karag turned in his chair and shook his head. "No, I'm Poncee Yanuso, Soulus is my assistant. He's upstairs, he'll be down in a minute." he grinned sharply.
Suddenly a young Karag stepped down the steep stairs, his totally silver hair shining in the pseudo-light made by the various lamps on the ceiling.
"These are the humans?" he asked cheerfully.
Poncee gave a light nod without looking away from his computer.
Nicole pulled at the neck of her sweater, "Soulus right?"
The Karag held up two fingers in the 'peace'/'victory' symbol as he stretched his arms out.
"Yeah, Soulus Amagio, and I have a gift for you lost beings." he smiled.
Jane made a confused face as he pulled something from under the floorboards.
It was a black and indigo box, almost in a galaxy pattern.
He handed it to Harvard who opened the small box.
Inside was four cellphone-like devices.
"Use 'em, they'll connect you to the few karags that don't hate humans. They're called Waveboxes by the way."
Xavier picked up one of them and examined the strange symbols on the keys, luckily there were actual numbers on the keypad.
"Thanks, so much." He said with genuine appreciation.
"Well, it's no big deal, I just don't want you guys to die."
Soulus chuckled, his laugh definitely made the humans uncomfortable.
Harvard opened the door of the residencekeep, "C'mon we should be going." he seemed to whisper in an uneasy tone.
Nicole waved to the karags as she left, following her friends out the door.
