Chapter 1 A New Flame

The first thing that I see is darkness. I'm not scared in fact I am comforted by it. If there is one thing I could compare it to, it would be the ocean.Mostly because of its depth and before you know it are swallowed up by it. Then I realize that my lower half is covered in water and that I'm surrounded by a greyish white powder.Soon I start to feel my legs as I try to move out of the the puddle of water. As I stand up I look at my clothes.Now while I might not be the most fashionable person what I'm currently in are definitely rags and to make matters worse I'm wet and I smell like burnt paper. "Uhg what am I a fireplace that's how I smell."I say to myself.

I turn around to take a look at my surroundings. For some reason unknown to me my stomach was unsettled. As I turn around I see a light in the distance.From what I see I can't tell whether it's day or night, but right now my goal is to find out where I am and what my current situation is. Soon I reach the light, I realize that I'm in cave,A very deep one at that.I look up into the sky,It looks as if though it is on fire with all the stars up above. I continue to look around and also see that I'm in a forest. In the distance I see huge plumes of smokes.

"I wonder what happened over there I hope the people are ok. Maybe I'll check it out in the morning." In the corner of my eye I see a flickering light through the trees; I go to investigate as i draw closer I realize its fire but as I take a closer it looks as if thought it's alive. Moving of its own will, I slowly approach it and noticing my presence it turns to me and backs away.I put my hand out having no fear of being burned embracing the heat of the flames on my skin. And strangely enough I feel no pain as I pet the creature. Upon closer look I can see that it is a bird shaped fireball."What's your name little guy? I wonder where you came from a phoenix is a rare sight indeed."

He tilted his head at me and then I felt as if though something was pressing on my conscience trying to get in. There is no way to defend myself from something unknown to me and then I heard a voice. It was soft and full of worry but still had an edge to it as if he were an ancient being ."WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN I'VE BEEN ALL OVER THIS FOREST LOOKING FOR YOU. After the arrow pierced your heart I didn't see where you landed to reincarnate. You know you could have called out to me at least!" shocked by the sudden voice in my head I fall on my back and tried to get as far away from the bird as possible. As he looked at me in confusion I squeeze words out of my dry throat. " W-Who are you ?! How did you get in my head and what do you mean an arrow pierced my heart wouldn't that kill a person!?

A twisted look of realization came across his face and then it dropped to one of deep thought. We sat in silence for a few minutes as he mumbled to himself. Most of what I heard wasn't pleasant, a sense of fear creeps over me "Does he mean me harm? And why am i just sitting here waiting on him ? I need to be finding out where and who I am. But didn't he say that he was looking for me then then he might know how i got in that cave and why i have no memories. Well for now let's at least hear him out if it seems suspicious then i'll run." As i finish collecting my thoughts i clear my throat to get his attention and say what's on my mind."Hey bird,listen i don't know you but apparently you know me so i want you to explain everything to me right now and if i feel you're being dishonest i'm going to scram ok?" The look that he gives me is one of understanding and joy." I'm glad you kept your personality at least. I will tell you everything i know about you but first i must tell you basic information so that you can fully understand what i'm saying. Is that acceptable for you or would you rather that i start your tale? "

I think about what i know and come to the realization that i don't know much about myself and the world. I know basic information like language,numbers, and that the land,sea,and sky exist. But if i try to look deeper into my mind i just run into a brick wall and after many moments of frustration i say " i would rather have you explain everything to me for my knowledge is limited and that will get me nowhere nor will it help me in the future. i may get deceived so i will have to take your word on what you tell me so it better be truthful if you want to gain my trust;is that clear?" He nods his head in agreement and proceeds to stretch his wings and perches himself on a branch that's about to my face level and i'm able to look him in the eyes and i see that he has no ill intentions towards me.

I sit on a tree stump to make myself comfortable i get the feeling that i'm going to be here for a while. He waits for me to settle and makes sure that i'm paying attention. And then he starts my tale of who i am and used to be. Once more he asks me "Are you sure you want to hear this it's not too late to change your mind and forge your own path with me as your guide." I respond with certainty that i didn't even know i had until this moment" I'd rather know who i was and what type of world i'm in so that i'm not oblivious in the future and i will take you up on that offer to be my guide no matter what i hear."
