The Homeless Child

The Question

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* I woke up to my alarm clock at 6:30 A.M. "Ugh," I think to myself. "Time to get up." I got up, took a shower, got dressed, put on light makeup, fed Vern, and made myself some toast.

"I'll be back later tonight, be good Vern," I said while locking up my house. I walked to my car and drove my way to work. It wasn't a long drive to NYC Pet Health Clinic where I am a vetrerinarian.

I arrived at work. It was the usual day with a couple of sick animals here and there. There was nothing major. It was around 5:30 P.M. when I clocked out and made my way over to the hospital that Holly was staying at.

It took me twenty minutes to get to the hospital. I entered the hospital and walked to the front desk. I said that I was there to see Holly Young. She pointed in the direction that Holly's room was in. I then walked down the hallway, I walked into room 201, and I see Holly.

"Hi Holly," I said smiling. "How ya doin?"

"Could be better. I'm thinking about putting Sarah up for adoption, though." She said looking very sad.

"What?!"

"I live on the streets Jennifer! I have no way to support myself no less a newborn!" She yelled with both anger and fear in her voice.

"You can't Holly!" I said very upset. I knew what it was like to be put up for adoption. That's when I had a brilliant idea. "Holly!"

"What?!" She said on the verge of crying.

"Come live with me. I have two extra rooms in my house. And Vern will love the extra company!"

"Who's Vern?" She asked me.

"She's my German shepherd. She's super good with strangers and babies," I said. Holly looked at me debatingly.

I had some writers block with the title and the ending of this episode. But I hope you like this 😁😁
