BROOKLYNS POV

i dropped my phone taking in the news that my baby might still be alive.

i darted out of my bed while ethan was wrapped around me.

"where are you going?"

ethan said getting up following me

"ethan they found a heartbeat!"

ethan's eyes popped open and he darted for the car keys and drove to the hospital.

we got to the main entrance and i busted down the doors.

"where's my baby!"

a nurse guided me to the doors with my baby on the other side.

i looked back at ethan. he nodded his head inferring that i open the doors.

the other half of my heart was on the other side of that door.

the love of my life. was on the other side of that door.

i got the guts to open the door. there was a small bed and a tiny figure inside of it.

"listen!"

ethan said looking at me

i listened.

and listened.

and then, i finally heard it.

*beep. beep. beep. beep."

i heard the heart monitor copying my baby's heartbeat.

he's alive!

i hugged ethan tight as he hugged me tight not being able to speak.

we thanked the doctors for all there hard work.

i looked at my baby sleeping body peacefully laying on the bed.

his eyes started to open and they lit up when they saw ethan and i.

"you can take him home in 1 hour after we run some tests"

the doctor said picking up grant.

i nodded and sat down on a chair.

there was only one seat so ethan picked me up and plopped me on his lap.

"i'm so happy"

ethan said i've never seen him smile so...real.

"alright mom and dad! here's grant ready to go home?"

the doctor said handing me grant.

"oh my god"

i said looking at him happy to see his glowing eyes.

i went down and kissed grant on the forehead.

"ready to go home baby?"

i said buckling in his car seat

i got back in the passenger seat and looked at ethan.

his smile was beaming white.

"i love you"

he said

"both of you."

he said looking back at grant

i smiled feeling relieved.
