"Your grades are perfect. Your friends are perfect and you are perfect." My Mom, Beth, said as she slid the batch of chocolate chip cookies in the oven, then closed it
"Your only saying that cause your my Mother. I can see through you like these glasses." I told her as I tapped my black boxed glasses.
She sighed and wiped her hands on her foral apron before leaning over the counter on her elbows.
"There's simply no reason why you don't have a boyfriend Tori."
"Mom! I'm everything a girl doesnt want to be. Glasses, Reading, Weight, blonde, Smart!" I yelled at her and she slightly flinched at every word I screamed out.
Just then the doorbell rang and I slumped down in my chair and laid my head on the cool countertop. My Mom walked over to the door as she straightened her hair and regained her posture. She unlocked the door and opened it to reveal my childhood friend and neighbor, Cory Meadows. Like me, Cory was 16 but he was a popular at school.
"Hi Margaret, Cory! It's so nice to see you both. Come on in!" She greeted in her cheerful tone. I picked at a lose thread on my Mickey mouse pajamas while Cory made his way towards my cozy yet unusual position on the bar stool.
Once he stood next to me he leaned over and whispered something in my ear.
"What?" I mumbled as I sat up and adjusted my glasses. He chuckled and spoke louder this time.
"I said good afternoon." He smiled kindly as his phone buzzed and he pulled it from his back pocket then tapped the screen a few times before replacing it in his pocket again.
Yeah, it's a sunday evening. So, what are you accusing me of? Pajama over use?
"Whatever Cory. I will never understand you with your beanies." He always had a beanie on his head. If the weather was over 85° then he was okay with not wearing one but anything less, his head was covered. Today he was wearing his Rocky beanie that exclusively showed a very beat up Sylvester Stallone on the side.
I walked to the couch with Cory following my every step and we took a seat on the couch. After about five minutes of debating what video game to play, we agreed on Call of duty; which I totally smoked him on.

I was taking down notes in Chemistry class when someone tapped my shoulder and I turned my head to meet none other than Courtney Bullock. Great.
"Do you mind moving your extremely, unattractive, bobblehead out of my view of my education?" She asked as if her life depended on that question. My mouth gaped open as I snuck a glance at Ash who had a smirk on his face. I turned around in my seat and clenched my fist so tight to were my knuckles turned white.
'What a bitch.' I thought as I ran a totally non-phsycotic convo in my head.
I decided now was the time to take control of my life before it spiraled out of control even more.
The bell rang and Courtney gathered her things then started to walk by me but I stuck my foot out and 'accidentally' tripped her. She screamed then a small "Uh" was heard as she hit the tile floor. I smiled in my small victory that was short lived when Mr. Collins yelled, "Detention Miss Timmons. 3 o'clock sharp!"
My eyes went wide and I groaned as Courtney whisper yelled profanitys at me and Ash seemed taken back by my actions. Great.
