As they say, "There's a first for everything."
I always pondered on how Detention was. I guess I cursed myself cause I was now sitting at a desk in Mr. Collins class again. I hoped that it was just me and the two emo kids in the back. I guess I just cursed myself again cause Ash walked through the door and I mentally slapped myself across my face.
He took the seat next to me and turned to face me before smiling widely.
"Good girl gone bad, huh?" He asked shaking off his varsity jacket and hanging it on the back of his chair.
"W-what? I, um, I don't know what your talking about." I shook my head vigorously. He chuckled and ran a hand through his hair.
"Well, you just tripped Courtney and now your denying it. And I never dreamt the day you'd be here in detention. To be honest, I didn't think you had it in you." I sat back and stared at this dark haired boy and shrugged.
"No offense, but your girlfriends a pain in my ass." I told him crossing my arm's from the cold air blowing from the vent right above me. Ash noticed and grabbed his varsity jacket and handed it to me. I slowly took it with a cautious look before sliding my arms in. I was immediately engulfed in the smell of After shave and old spice. The smell of Ash kenton. A player.
"Are you seriously that dumb? I thought you were supposedly the smartest kid here!" I looked at him with wide eyes.
"What are you talking about?" I asked confused.
"I don't like Courtney! I'm only dating her for the la-" I cut him off.
"Label?" He nodded and I rolled my eyes. Of course. This school was built on labels.
Mr. Collins walked in swiftly and wrote a sentence on the board.
"You will write, 'I will become a better student here at Johnson High' 300 times then you can leave." He said taking a seat at his desk once he finished on the chalkboard.
I sighed and started writing my fingers off.
****
Surprisingly, the two emo kids finished before Ash and I. Then I finished at the same time Ash did.
I left the class and walked to my car before I heard the sound of a skateboard coming towards me. I turned around and saw Ash rolling on his board. Once he stopped in front of me, I raised an eyebrow and waited for his voice.
"Are you gonna steal my jacket or what?" He asked pointing at his coat around my small frame.
When it finally hit me what he was saying, I blushed and quickly pulled the jacket off of me and handed it back to him.
"Thanks... Ash." I smiled as I got into my car and closed the door. He wheeled out of the parking lot and I sighed; slamming my head on the steering wheel accidentally hitting the horn. It went off and I screamed jumping up and gripping the wheel.
What is wrong with me?
