'I'm gonna miss you all so much' is all I've been hearing. The phrase is so overused that by now it's lost its meaning. It's the end of the day now, so everyone's hugging and saying goodbye. Everyone except me. I'm just waiting for the bus. All of a sudden, Avery is standing right in front on me, making me jump. 'You okay?' She asks sincerely. 'I'm fine, why wouldn't I be?' Is all I can think of to reply. 'I dunno, you've just seemed a bit off all day' oh no. She noticed. I didn't think anyone would. 'I'm just a bit sad that we have to leave everyone, that's all' i saved myself. 'Oh look, the bus is here' I said before she could say anything. We all got on the bus, but once again, we were last on the bus so the only seat was behind Calum. We were walking towards the seat when someone else tried to sit there. I was relieved at first, then I noticed that Calum wouldn't let the poor kid sit there. When we tried sit there, he allowed us. Wait, was he saving the seat for us? This can't end well. We sat down and I instantly took my phone out to distract myself. 'Hey' I looked up and saw Calum staring directly into my eyes. I felt my face become flustered. 'Hi' I quickly replied. 'You okay? You seem off?' What? Did he really just say that? My eyes widen. Does he care? Is he just pretending? 'Why do you care' maybe I was a bit rude, but I can't help it. 'Because we're friends and I prefer it when you're happy' I become even more flustered than I already was. Is he being serious? 'We aren't really friends anymore though' I looked down as I said this, not wanting to face him. 'Yeah we are' he said with that stupid grin he always wears. 'We never talk anymore' it's the truth. 'Well, what are we doing right now?' Sly mother fucker. 'Good point' I said with a little smile. 'See, that's what I wanna see. You should smile more' why am I giggling? After saying that, he turned around again and we didn't talk for the rest of the bus ride. I couldn't help thinking that maybe a part of him still cares....
