Chapter 4: The Confession 💘

Uraraka helped Tsu onto the bus since her ankle was still hurting from the fall. She pulled out an Ice pack.

"Here Tsu, this will help ease some of the pain."

"Thanks, Uraraka, but where did you get that ice pack from?"

"I got it from my lunchbox. I knew this would be a long ride, so I brought some snacks. I have some leftover sushi, so I was keeping it cold with the ice pack."

"Sorry that you can't keep your sushi cold."

"Don't worry about it. Hey, wanna share it with me?"

"Are you sure?"

"Of course. We're friends aren't we?"

"Thanks, Ochaco."

Midoriya saw Uraraka had taken his seat. Which he didn't mind at all, since he knew she was only trying to help Tsu feel better. Suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey Midoriya, come sit with us." Said Kirishima who was sitting next to Kaminari.

Midoriya squeezed himself in the middle between the two. Both of them leaned closer to him and lowered their voice.

"So Midoriya, tell us what's going on with you and Asui? Did you ask her out yet?" Asked Kirishima.

"Ooouuu I didn't know Midoriya had the hots for her. Honestly, I didn't figure you'd make the first move, you know since you're always an inch away from a panic attack when you talk to girls. But I guess even shy guys like you can come out of their shells every now and then. " Said Kaminari with a wide grin.

"Well...um since we split up during the challenge, I didn't get a chance to talk to her about that yet. Besides, don't you think it's too early for me to make a move on her? We've only known each other for like two days. I don't want her to think I'm impatient, or some kind of pervert like Mineta."

"Trust me, no one can be more perverted than that little mushroom tip." Says Kirishima while pointing his finger at Mineta who was sleeping with drool running down his mouth.

"Still I'm unsure about the whole ordeal. It might be too soon."

"Oh my innocent little Midoriya, don't you know anything. Who cares if it's soon, if she likes you back then why wait? My Dad fell in love with my mom on the first day of college. He didn't have time to wait, he went for it. Sure he got rejected a few times since my mom wanted to focus on her studies, but my mom said that she admired his perseverance. Plus she even said she was mostly just teasing him and decided to date him a few weeks later. And the rest is history."

"I don't know Kaminari, I guess I'm just kind of nervous. What if I'm not her type? And she decides to turn me down? Then it'll just get awkward between us. I don't want that to happen. I like the friendship that we started to form, it would suck if all that just went away."

"See Midoriya that's your problem. You always think about the negative side of the situation. The what-if scenarios. When you should be thinking about the upsides. As a man, it's your responsibility to express how you feel. Real men show their emotions, little boys bottle them up inside because they don't know what else to do with them." Says Kirishima.

"I guess you two both have a point. I'll be sure to keep that in mind."

"See now that's the attitude you should be having." Says Karishma with a wide grin.

"Don't worry Midoriya, we'll be there for whatever happens. Even if she rejects you into oblivion and destroys the self-esteem you don't even have; your good 'ol pal Kaminari will be there to cheer you up."
