With my gun raised I stood and faced the person responsible for shooting up my girl's house. I shook my head staring at the older version of me. He wore a smug smirk on his face waiting for my reaction. Staring him directly in his eyes, I raised my gun and killed two of the three men with him. The third was my Uncle X and I couldn't bring myself to shoot my uncle. For one he didn't have a gun in his hand. Even though I know he was armed, I also know he didn't partake in this bullshit my father was creating right now. As usual he was only here to make sure shit with my father and I didn't escalate. My father and I never got along but when he remarried after my mother's death it got even worse. I hate my father with everything I have in me. Which is the exact reason he had to stage a shootout to get my attention. I guess leaving home and cutting off communication with him didn't sit to well with him. Honestly I could give two fucks how he felt, I did feel bad for Tara's peoples tho. We've been kicking it a little over six months and I'm already bringing problems her way.
"Travis take the girls and Kyan to the hospital fam. I'll handle this" I said quietly. From the corner of my eye I could see Travis look from me to my father before shaking his head. He scooped up Kyan and headed to the door. On the way out, he bumped my father hard as shit.
"Bitch you better hope he make it or I promise your ass going to be the next one with a funeral." He mugged him as he walked out the door, followed by the girls. I felt bad for Kyan, knowing if he died it was due to my father's temper tantrum. Tara stopped and looked back at me and I swear her eyes didn't look the same. She always had this sparkle in them that drew me in. Now they were cold as hell and empty. She kissed my father on his cheek on the way out and whispered something in his ear. I couldn't hear her but for the first time in my life I seen a flash of fear in my father eyes before he regained his composure. There was a side to Tara I wasn't aware of but would be make my priority to find out. Waiting for the door to shut I turned back to my father.
"What do you want Oldman? I've already told you and X I'm good on the family business. I don't want anything to do with you."
"You know what I want Zyir. We have a deal with the Ortez family and you need to come home and play your role. I do not care about your little temper tantrum. You will do as I say."
I looked at my father and held my stomach laughing. "My role?" Looking from my father to my uncle and laughed even louder. "In case you forgot I'm grown as hell homie. Zyir doesn't play a role in anybody games, not even yours. I told you when I left that prison you called a home I was cutting ties. You better tell that little Barbie to birth you a child to follow in your footsteps. I tried to leave in peace and you insist on fucking with me. The only ties you have to be is blood other than that we have no connection. If I find out you or your bitch had anything to do with my mother's death your deal with the Ortez family will be the least of your worries. Now get the fuck out the 757, before I add your ass to the body count.
Grabbing my phone and jacket I walked out leaving my father and uncle to clean up the mess he created. I already knew my father would be a problem in the future, but I meant what I said. My mother was my heart and I know my father had a hand in her death. He just better pray I never find the proof I'm looking for. He raised a killer and he's about to see just how well I paid attention.
