We bought Violet a ferret. Then she dyed the ends of her hair purple.

"My name is now a cool color, and no longer a flower," is all she said about it.

Now I have a crazy friend, a boy who I can't help, and a target on my back.  Life is great.

Speaking of one of my problems, my phone started ringing.  It was Jake.

"Hello," I said when I answered it.

"If you want your man candy to stay alive, you better do as I say," a voice answered.

"Who are you?" I asked; forgetting to leave the fear out of my voice.

"I'm a member of the Red Fangs. I just texted you an address; you can bring your purple friend. Don't tell Blake." With that he hung up.

On the bright side, I won't have that much trouble telling Jake that I'm in a gang.

I grabbed Violet's hand and said, "if you wanna be a part of the gang, then come with me."

Then I just realized how I could get help.  The Red Fangs aren't tracking Violet's phone, because she just became a member of the gang.

"Give me you phone" I said to her.

And just like that, she handed me her phone.  I texted Blake saying, "SOS" then gave him the address.

In about twenty minutes, we finally reached the destination.  It was an old pastry shop.  Seems like it was closed for years.

"Put your hands up!" Said someone from behind me.

Immediately I did as he said, even if it was only so they wouldn't shoot at Violet.

"Where's Jake?" I asked.

The man smiled.  "Right above you."

I looked up and saw the worst sight I could ever see.  Jake's arms and feet were tied to the ceiling.

"Would you like to explain to me what's happening Heather?"  He asked with anger in his eyes.

The man held his gun to his chest.  "Your heart has an 80,000 dollar bounty.  Meanwhile, your head is a one million dollar bounty.  I want that money."

"Not today sucker!" Someone else shouted from behind the man.

It was Blake!  He then shot the man.

"Come on we have to go!" Blake shouted at me.

"Wait, what about Jake?" I asked with some tears.

Blake looked annoyed but he climbed a shelf to help get Jake down.

"What's happening here?" Jake screamed at me.

"Surprise, I'm in a gang," I replied with a fake smile.

Jake looked at me like I was a complete stranger. Then again, in a way, I was a complete stranger. Everything he thought he knew about me was wrong.

Then I did something I never thought I would do. "Wanna join the gang?" I asked.

Instead of answering, he just ran away.

"Jake wait!" I shouted, feeling the tears come down.

I ran after him, but eventually I got lost and couldn't see him anywhere.

"It's ok," Violet said giving me a small pat on the back.

"No it's not," I responded sadly. "This gang has ruined my life. It killed my parents. It turned my brother into a monster. It made you a completely different person. And it ruined my chance at ever finding love."
