Norah POV

Rain.

Pouring down, dripping in my hair and off my back as the sound of howls in the distance grow louder and louder.

The mud sloshes as my feet hit puddles filled ankle high. Glancing over my shoulders a blur of brown and black with red angry eyes follow in chase of their pray.

Me.

Trees swaying hard, Mother Nature giving her unkind breath. In her rage
Lighting strikes over the valley as thunder rolls and the rain increases drenching once dry clothes. The run never stops. Not until we are safe.

Loud barks ring in my numb ears that burn from the cold crisp air. Glancing again I see one of the blurs push off from the mud, pouncing from the ground and landing harshly on the slowest runner of the group.

"Help" she cries as the beast snaps it's unkind jaws in her face.

Turning around at a full sprint running back towards her "removere mala" I screamed waving my hand in direction of the beast watching it fly off landing on its back a few feet away.

Grabbing her hand and yanking her up onto my back I continue my sprint holding on her tight so that she won't slip right off with all the rain.

"Norah over here! Hurry!" Eden cries out waving her hands frantically.

The beast don't give in as they pick up their pace, nipping at the edges of my heals.

Reaching Edens out stretched hands. I latch on intertwining our fingers and facing the beasts, that bark as slobber runs down their snouts. The chase hasn't stopped, the pray just stopped moving making us an easier target.

Waving our hands in direction of the beasts with our hands still interlocked tightly, two voices become one as we chant "adolebitque bestias" watching as the beasts spark on fire and begin to burn.

Their howls and cries fill the air as they run in circles and roll on the ground trying to kill the flames that burn their fur.

"adolebitque bestias" we chant again watching the flames grow higher.

Stepping closer the trees hiss and sway with the wind and smoke rises in the air. "flammis mori" we chant as the flames vanish and the flesh of beasts barley breathing lay on the ground whimpering in severe pain.

Casting my eyes down too disgusted by the sight. "Leave now or we will not hesitate to burn the rest of you!" Screams Eden, the beasts stand slowly and take off in the direction they once came from at a much slower rate. The smell of burnt flesh subsidies slightly due to the heavy rain fall. "And tell your buddies if the chase us again the can expect a worse fate!" She hollers.

We watch in silence as the beasts run off out of sight. Keeping silent for a few minutes listening to the woods to hear if any stragglers feel brave enough to attack. The woods make no noise and we sigh in relief, the chase is over."I think if we run northwest we will reach the main road." I say pointing in that direction "it's opposite of the way the rouges ran and in most case they don't take camp near the roads."

Eden nods her head slightly "good thinking, we will follow along the road until we reach a town, roads always lead somewhere." I nod in agreement and set Magnolia down on the mud ground.

"How do you feel Mag? Did they bite you anywhere?" I ask grabbing the sides of her face and tilt her head from side to side.

"No Norah I'm fine, this bag is just slowing me down." She shifts the backpack on her shoulders and sighs
