Chapter 30: The bridges of Seine

Justin's P.O.V.

Soon everyone finally arrives here at Ariana's house. I'm holding Sophia again and Ariana has now left my side.

"Let me just tell Connor we are leaving"Ariana says and hurries upstairs.

She soon comes back and her mom is ready with all the food.

I put Sophia in her car seat and hand the seat to Ariana while I help Joan put the food in the trunk of her car. I also put a stroller in too.

Me, Sophia, Ariana, and Frankie go in Joan's car. Jeanette goes with my mom, scooter, Chaz, and Ryan in their rental. Usher offers to take our grandparents.

Ariana invited her friend Tracy too so she'll meet us there.

They carpool Joan's car.

We finally arrive and I fix Sophia into the stroller.

"We'll come back for the food"Joan says. Everyone gets out their cars and seconds later, that Tracy girl is pulling up.

She gets her stroller out for her son too.

I notice Ryan checking her out.

We all begin walking over the bridges.

Everyone's in their own conversations taking in all the beautiful views.

I also notice Scooter holding my mom's hand.

Weird.

He's engaged to Yael isn't he? Yael and him have been together for a long time and now she's his fiancé.

"Isn't everything beautiful?"Ariana asks interrupting my thoughts.

"Everything is"I say and keep rolling Sophia's stroller.

"Look I'm really sorry for last night. I didn't mean to say.."she begins. "It's fine. Like I said this morning, it's a new day"I cut her off.

"Why aren't you mad at me? When we were together you would always get mad at me"she asks after a few minutes of silence.

"Because Ariana. I've realized that you're worth more than getting mad. I literally hate myself for starting stupid fights with you"I say.

"Well you shouldn't because I'm just as much to blame for"she says. "No you're not"I say.

"Yes I am. The last and final fight we had caused us to break up. I started that pointless fight. I should have never got mad at you for only trying to help"she says.

"Hey, just forget about it. You're now with Connor, and I'm here being supportive because of Sophia"I say.

"Are you sure. I hate dating Connor with you around. I mean you broke up with your girlfriend for me and I'm not doing anything but kiss another man in front of you"she says.

"Ariana it's ok. I'm fine"I say. She sighs.

"I still love you though and I always will"I say. "I knew you were gonna say that"she mumbles.

I understand she's not ready to say it back. She probably never will.

"Cheer up"I say and punch her shoulder lightly. She punches me back and I wince and pretend it hurts.

"Ow, you've definitely got stronger"I say and she laughs.

"I have haven't I?"she asks and lifts her arm to show her muscles.

"Wow, much better than mine"I say.

"Oh stop it"she says and punches my arm again and laughs.

God her laugh is so beautiful. She's so beautiful.

We keep walking around until we start getting hungry.

We walk to the water banks and find a nice spot in the grass.

"I'll go back and get the food. Frankie and Chaz come with me"Joan says and they walk back the way we came.

I notice Ryan flirting with Tracy. I also notice my mom is way to close to Scooter.

For real, what is going on between them. I've never seen them like this.

Joan and the boys soon come back.
They lay a blanket on the grass and we all sit.

She reveals sandwiches, fruit, chips, and Drinks.

"Yes! I haven't had your sandwiches in forever"I say.

I love her sandwiches. They are the best ever. The food she makes in General is the best.

Sophia has fallen asleep in her stroller so I decide to leave her in there.

I take a bite out the sandwich and it literally melts in my mouth.

"It's so good"I say and see that Jeanette is also tearing down her sandwich.

"Hey Jeanette remember we used to have those food eating contest?"I ask her. "Oh yea, the ones I always beat you at?"she asks.

"You didn't beat me. I beat you"I say and she laughs.

I can't help but notice my mom wipe Scooter's mouth with a napkin. The way she stares into his eyes just sets me off.

"Ok what is going on between you two?"I burst out at them.

Everyone's attention is now on me.

"What do you mean?"my mom's cheeks go red.

"Why are you two so touchy today?"I ask.

Scooter looks at my mom.

"We should tell him"he says and my mom nods.

"Justin, sweetie, me and Scooter are together"she says.
