"Yeah. He was going to sell you and the girl. I brought y'all here to stop him." When he said that my heart broke
"Can I know your name? And why did you save us?" I asked
"My name is Zaire. And because I can't sit back and let my cousin hurt a beautiful woman and her daughter." He said
I nodded my head.
"When can we leave?" I asked
"Now. I'm trying to protect y'all. So I wish y'all wouldn't." He said walking out of the room
I looked at A'Breeah and she was sniffing.
I can't believe I let Zay do me like this. And his own daughter. It ridiculous. But how do I know that Zaire isn't lying? I'll have to see. I don't feel comfortable my daughter here so I carried her with me. I went to find Zaire. I found him in the living room. I sat down on the opposite couch as him. He paused the game he was playing and looked at me.
"I'm assuming you have a question" He said turning towards me
I nodded my head.
"How do I know you're not lying?" I said making sure A'Breeah was comfortable in my lap
"I can call him if you want." He said pulling his iPhone 8 out
I nodded again.
He called and Zay picked up.
Hey man did you get the girls. -Zay
Zaire- Yeah but your not getting them. You can't sell parole like slaves especially innocent kids

Zaire-Nahhnigga that's where you got it wrong. I don't answer to nobody and what I say goes. Ain't nobody getting sold around here.
Zaire hung up. Now I can believe him. Zay was going to sell us like slaves. This is crazy.
"Where are we?" I asked
"Cali. What's y'all names?" He said looking at A'Breeah
" My name is Kalia. Hers is A'Breeah." I said rubbing her back
He nodded his head.
"Do y'all want to leave? I mean Zay will look for y'all." He said
I shook my head.
"Cool. I texted the contacts in your phone that you were fine. Then I broke it so nobody could track you. I'll get you a new one today. We'll go shopping later. So that I know that y'all are comfortable. I know y'all need clothes." He said standing
"Are we leaving now?" I asked
He nodded and handed me a shirt to put on A'Breeah. Her other got ruined.
I woke A'Breeah up and put her in the back seat. I sat in the passenger seat. We made it to the mall. Usually I would go crazy but not its different. I don't know where my purse is.
"Do you know where my purse went? I had money in there." I said
He nodded.
"It's in my house. But you don't need to pay for anything when your with me." He said
He grabbed A'Breeah because she had fallen asleep again.
We went in the mall and went to babies r us. A'Breeah need clothes now than I did. He asked what he size was and got her everything that was pink. That was her favorite color. We went to Journey's and got me and her some shoes. I want asking for much. Then we went to Charlotte Russe, Hibbits, Wet seal, Pacsun and more. We got more clothes. I told him that he got is enough for now. He already doesn't so much money in one day. We went to the Apple Store and got me a phone like his. I have only 3 contacts. Jai, Emy, and Alex. I told them that this was my number now and not to tell Zay. They all promised that wouldn't.
We made it back to his place and he handed me my purse that was on a table.
"Come on. I'll show y'all to yalls room." He said walking down the hall
I followed. He showed us a room and a bathroom. He left to go get the bags. A'Breeah had went back to sleep. She had been really quiet today. I wasnt going to make her talk because what she went through was traumatic for the both of us. I had to be strong on her behalf.
I laid her on the bed. She cuddled with a pillow. I sat on the edge of the bed. Waiting for Zaire to come back with our clothes. I need to take a shower.
" Here you go. You can come to my room to get me. If you need anything I mean. And you don't have to be scared. I won't do anything to you." Zaire said
I nodded my head.
"Thank you. For everything." I said
He was about to walk out the room but A'Breeah started crying
Before I could grab her Zaire died. He started patting her back until she went back to sleep. He went to lay her back down. She clung to him tighter. So he laid on his back and she laid on his chest. I nodded my head and went to take a shower. For some reason I knew that she would be safe with him.
