(Kalila's POV)
Some people think you can love many people at once.
They call it love because they don't realise that just because you're laying in her bed with your hands down her pants, it doesn't mean she loves you.
They call it love because they don't know what 'love' truly is. Do any of us? Probably not.
I for one, know that you only get one chance. You can tell me all you want that I'll "find someone else" or "It just takes time." Bullshit. I've had my love. It's done. It's over. She's gone.
Either way, it's over now. I still have a life to live and I intend on doing just that. Living.
My name is Kalila Vast, many call me Kal. I'm a small town girl with a world full of issues that I couldn't even begin to describe to you. I have long brown hair, brown eyes. I'm boring. I've always been known as "Simple" or "Basic." In reality people just don't stick around long enough to realize that I'm actually the complete opposite.
Whatever.
It's currently two in the morning and I still haven't closed my eyes once. Maybe because sleep is vulnerability, but whatever stupid reason I come up with, it doesn't mean I don't need it.
I pick up a little orange pill bottle to the left of me on my nightstand, pop the top off and pour 2 small pills into my left palm. I plop the tangy tasting tablets into my mouth and immediately regret it while grabbing my glass of water and chugging it, washing them down. I hate sleep. Merely because of the dreams I have during it. More like nightmares I suppose.
I lay my head on my white satin pillow and wait patiently for the pills to kick in and do their job. As I turn my head I see a little white light coming from my nightstand which couldn't be anything other than my phone. I pick up the cold piece of metal and read the notifications in my head. blah blah blah.
Suddenly one of them caught my eye, but my eyelids were already drooping and there was no point in trying to fight the sleep. I can check it tomorrow. I'll have to check it tomorrow.
After all, the drugs always win.

As the sun rises high in the sky, I feel the familiar tug on my sock, meaning its time to wake up. I sit up and immediately smile after seeing my favorite boy at the end of my bed.
"C'mon wolf." I say while patting the side of my bed impatiently waiting for my Siberian, black and white, husky to join me.
He jumps on the bed and rushes to attack my face with his dripping wet tongue. I laugh uncontrollably and he turns around and lays on my lap, indicating he wanted to be patted.
This is love.
Wolf is my best friend. Always has been. My family has had him for 10 years.
I still remember the day my mother and father brought me to the shelter and told me to pick whatever one I wanted. Of course, me being the spontaneous, weirdo that I am, picked a scorpion first. I was very disappointed in not being allowed to have one, but then I seen wolf, and it was love at first sight.
I looked over at my nightstand and jumped up drastically after seeing my alarm clock read 9:31. "Shit!." I yelled. I had already missed my first period, and my dad is a huge school freak so you can just imagine how fast I was getting ready.
After getting dressed, and shoving my laptop in my bag, I hurried down the stairs grabbing an apple and my cars keys on my way out the door. I hopped into my Black Jeep, shoved the keys in the ignition and sped away to my own personal hell.
Cherry Hill High School.
