CHAPTER 2

"I said don't come near me again Steve!", Jane told her ex-boyfriend Steve, who seems to be desperate. I, for once would love to kick that guy because he is so full of himself.

Can you imagine, he two-timed my classmate Jane and told her he was drunk. Oh boy, there goes that lame excuse every guy has ever reasoned with. Jane saw him making out with an unknown girl in the janitors room. Call that coincidence but it was partly my fault. I mean, I really feel bad for Jane so I told her I saw her boyfriend in the janitor's room. Although I wasn't close to her or anything, no girl should experience that. I mean it, I am not evil or what but I fight for what is right.

"Thank you so much Sophia for telling me Steve's whereabouts. I wouldn't have known that he is cheating on me", Jane told me while giving me a slight hug. I was amazed at the sudden gesture but I hugged her back anyway.

"No problem Sweetie, if you'd like, I can hook you up with one of my good friends, that is, if you're interested", I told Jane and seeing her wide eyed and totally shocked at what I just said.

"Don't you think it's too early for that? I mean I just broke up with Steve," Jane asked me shockingly.

"Oh honey, it's never too early for love. I just have the perfect match for you. I promise you he won't break your heart and if he did, I'd be the first one to know", I assured her while giving the brightest smile.

She stopped and thought for a while before giving me an answer. She had that confusing and amazed look on her face. I smiled a bit while examining her change of behavior. She then gave me another hug before she spoke.

"I've given it a thought, since you are the best in finding a match here in school, I trust your judgments", she took a deep breath before continuing whatever she is supposed to say. "I trust you, you know that, right?" she looked up to me with a questioning and assuring look. I nodded in response.

"Okay, since it's you who said it. I will try and have one date with him before deciding if he truly is a good match for me. By the way, who is he? Do I know him?", Jane asked me with excitement filled eyes.

I want to give her only limited information since I don't want to spoil the fun. I want Ben to introduce himself and do everything else since he always asked my help with Jane. I only told him to wait for the right time, which is now, if I may say. Ben is one of my friends from Biology class. He is a really good guy. He only had one girlfriend before. He is too shy to ask Jane out. One of the reasons of course, is that she has a boyfriend but now she is totally single. I did a happy dance in my mind. I didn't even notice, I froze a little and Jane was giving me odd looks.

"Sophia, are you there?", waving her hands through my face.

"Right, sorry for spacing out, I'm just excited for you. Although, I have to tell you, I can't tell you anything about him. I want you to know him by yourself. I don't want to spoil the fun in that", I told her with a grin.

"Alright, I know how this works and I totally understand. Although, you just have to tell me when I am supposed to meet him, like a week ahead so I can prepare, okay?" Jane told me while I sheepishly nodded.

I moved a little closer and whispered, "Don't worry, You've got nothing to be worried about. I have everything under control."

She just smiled at me and gave me another hug before leaving me.

What the hell did I just get myself into? I know, I am popular, even the queen bee is getting my advice. In no time, I will be the school's greatest matchmaker. I think I don't deserve that title since I never even had a boyfriend before. I am a hopeless romantic type of girl. I fall in love easily and fall out of love same way. People sometimes wonder where I get my advice and my skills when it comes to matching people. I only learn from the best, my model cousin Lucy & my other cousin who is an actress, Ashley. I always see those two dating and they always tell me the secret to their unending dating life and match making skills. Great, even my brother Toby approves of such activity. I learned how to match people when I was 15 years old. I matched my neighbor Ryan to a newly transferred girl from Oklahoma. It started then, everything changed. Everyone comes to me for advice and to match them with the people they liked. I didn't even have time for a romantic relationship for myself since I am so busy with other people's love life. I am so hopeless when it comes to love.

Gosh, I need a life.
