i love you
three mere words so vague
but they mean the world to most
and it infects them like a plague
love can be sweet and kind
simulating a warm hug
but love is also cold and cruel
painful like a punch to the gut
toxic people say these words
hypnotizing their lovers
but the abuse and harsh words
hides the love with covers
it's hard to see past
all the lies they spill
when that phrase is what they use
to cover that cold kill
it burns like a flame
right on your skin
trust me when i say:
do not let them in
