Monday morning rolled around so soon, as well as the month of November. It was getting colder and colder, but I didn't mind snuggling up close to Jack at night. On top of the cold weather this week, Thanksgiving was this Thursday.Kody was back home with Karmen, so it had been just us two for the remainder of the weekend. I stared out the classroom window as Jack taught the class about grammar rules. He was finally back to being in the classroom and I couldn't stop myself from getting aroused when his eyes would land on mine. It didn't make the situation better with him wearing a fitted button down and khakis. He looked even more attractive in his teaching outfits and his glasses. I wanted him to tell me where he was going to place me, not where a comma should be placed. My mind began to wander until it stumbled upon the memory of Jack saying he loved me. We didn't talk about it that night or even the weekend. I didn't even get the chance to say it back due to our little sexcapades.

When Jack finally dismissed class I felt at ease. We were alone and whatever happens, happens. He made me feel giddy and nervous when we were at school. For the most part we liked to be professional, but we've had our moments and I was praying that today would be one of those moments.

"Maliyah."

I jumped at the sound of my name being called before answering.

"Yes?"

"Are you alright?" He asked before erasing the white board.

"I'm okay." I paused. "Do you really love me?"

He sat the eraser down and made his way over to me.

"I try not to say things I don't mean, detka."

His eyes looked surprised that I'd even asked the question.

"How about we go to lunch ?" He suggested. "I'll drop you a pin to the place, can you meet me at 2:00, I've gotta finish some stuff.

I agreed and grabbed my laptop sliding it into my book bag.

He dropped me a pin and I met him at the restaurant named Renee's. It had a very modern vibe and the smell of seasoned seafood flooded the restaurant. I loved all kinds of food, but seafood was definitely one of my favorites.  He was seated at a table that had a low hanging light that shined dimly onto the marble table.

"Hey." Jack said standing up to greet me.

Just when I thought he was gonna give me a peck on the cheek he kissed my lips. His breath was minty and fresh as if he'd just brushed his teeth.

"Hi." I said with a smile.  He pulled the chair out for me to sit.

I sat as he walked back to his seat.

"You know, you have really pretty skin."

I glanced up at him from my menu to see his gaze upon my face.

I gave him a smile. " What are you plotting?"

"Nothing, I just think you're absolutely stunning."  He managed to find his hand in mine as I continued to look for what I wanted to order.

A beautiful brunette woman finally showed up to our table. She looked to be in her mid twenties, but as gorgeous as ever.

"What can I get y'all to drink?" She asked with her southern drawl.

"Sweet tea." I said.

"I'll have a margarita on rocks. Please."

"May I see your I.D. ?" She asked with a smile.

"Damn. I'm flattered that you think I'm not a day over 21." He joked.

They shared a laugh while my jealousy kicked in resulting in me eyeballing him.

"I'm also ready to order my food." I said interrupting their moment.

We ordered our food before the waitress informed us our food would be out soon.

About two minutes later, she brought our drinks to us sitting them on wooden coasters in front of us.

"You never told me about your parents. You've been hiding information from me." Jack spoke up.

"What do you wanna know ?" I asked before taking a sip of sweet tea.

"Everything. Whatever you want to tell me."

"Well I have an older brother named Michael after my father. My mother's name is Tammy. They've been married about 20 years. They live in Georgia."

"What made you move here all alone?"

"I'm not alone, my aunt lives here, Karmen is here, and I'm here with you."

"You're right." He agreed. "But you left your family at a young age."

"My mom  just never treated me like she treated my brother. I always felt like the red headed step child, instead of her blood related daughter that she birthed. I basically took care of myself. "

"I see how that could be hard, my father didn't support me not wanting to be more involved with the mob life. He hated that I moved here. When I was a kid, my travelled from here to Russia all the time. "

He reached into his pocket before pulling out a brown velvet box.

"Jack.." My eyes lit up in fear and surprise.

"Calm down, detka. It's just a token of my love for you. I know we haven't been together very long, but I've gotten a chance to see how smart and beautiful you are up close and I'm lucky. I don't want to lose you, so please take this promise ring. I promise to love you for all that you are and all that you'll become. "

He opened the box revealing a sparkling diamond ring, that I'm sure an average woman would kill for.

The Ring

My heart was beating fast and I felt as if I'd have an anxiety attack right there. Here I was in this beautiful restaurant with this beautiful man giving me a beautiful ring.  My conscience began weighing pros and cons while my heart said yolo. I trusted my heart and smiled really big before saying 'yes' and allowing him to slide the ring on my finger.

The rest of the night was great. I got home before him and kicked my shoes off before feeding Teddy. I pulled my hair up into a pineapple and waited for Jack to come home, but he didn't and I began to get worried when the clock strikes 12:00. I left voice messages and texts, but I still didn't get an answer.
